The first in a new MC series, The Assassins of Youth MC and opens the world to a unique setting for an MC read, in a Mormon sect. This was a new one on me!

Gideon Fortunati, is sent to Utah, by the MC Pres, to set up a business deal with the sect leader, Allred Lee Chiles. It is here he sets eyes on Mahalia Warrior who also happens to be the latest of Chiles’ wives (his 40th!). Even in the drab garb she is wearing, Gideon feels an attraction to her.

Mahalia was brought into the Church of Good Fortune after her husband dies and is made one of the wives. She has a fifteen year old daughter and when Chiles orders that she be married to one of the other elders makes Mahalia take drastic action. When she hears the pipes of the bike pulling up she takes a look out the window and see the sexy biker for the first time. One look at Gideon has her secret fantasy running into overdrive.

This was an unusual read for me and I must admit some of the dialogue had me stopping and reading back a few times to try and grasp what was being said, however it was an interesting and intriguing storyline. The romance element was an almost instant love that I would have liked to have felt more passion and angst as part of the build-up.

Overall a different MC read and stands out from the usual prose.
Three and a half stars.

I have enjoyed Layla's other series in the past and was lucky enough to get a copy of Through A Glass, Darkly to read and review. This is a new series and a has a bit of a different feel to her previous books (especially with the Mormon commune!) It took me a while to get into the book and connect with the characters, however once I had I really enjoyed this book. Although it has its moments it didn't feel as naughty as some of Layla's other offerings but I liked the spark between Gideon and Mahalia. I look forward to seeing how this series and the characters in the new MC chapter develop as the series progresses. In this book while telling Mahalia and Gideon's story Layla has done a great job of introducing lots of characters that I imagine will have great future storylines and I for one look forward to hearing their stories in the future!

When I first started reading this book, I found the dialogue and story quite difficult to follow. However, once I got to grips with it, it did start to flow a little easier.

The actual story line was interesting and had a different feel to a lot of other MC books that I've read so that was a big plus for me. Unfortunately, I didn't really connect with the characters and needed something more emotional from them. I would have also liked to have seen more of an emotional connection between our leads.

Overall an interesting story and a new series with lots of promise.

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a different departure on a MC romance that I was used to reading by this wonderful author. It was fascinating and I couldn’t put it down!!! Mahalia is the 40th wife to a very strange cult leader, and she is not the subservient type we are used to reading about in the Polygamist lifestyle…far from it. Gideon a MC member that is sent a work a deal with their leader. Gideon is one sexy man and Mahalia definitely notices. They meet and there are twists throughout this book. This is one of Layla’s best work ever. I really enjoyed as the story progressed. A real winner and I highly recommend it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally worth the $2.99,FLOVE this book 21 Dec. 2015

Through A Glass, Darkly is the first in the new Assassins of Youth MC series , and boy does Layla Wolfe come out will guns blazing in this book. She’s taken her signature smart and sexy, womanizing biker and paired him with a naïve yet willful beauty.
Gideon is an outlaw, a rebel, and he makes no bones about it. Mahalia is the dutiful, yet miserable, 40th wife of the prophet Allred Lee Chiles. As the head of the Church of Good Fortune, a fundamentalist Mormon sect, Chiles leads with a iron fist and twisted sense of morality. While Gideon has been accused of ruining women, never has he taken away their freedom, their free will. Seeing the abuses being heaped upon the women and children of Cornucopia he can not turn a blind eye to their plight. As his desire for Mahalia grows, so does his desire to the prophet fall from grace.

I have read several books in The Bare Bones and Bent Zealots series and I have become a real fan of Ms. Wolfe’s writing style. This book is no exception. The way she incorporates the often difficult subject of religion into an erotic MC story is perfection. Each page I read kept me wanting more. I had to know what happened next? Where would this wild ride on Gideon’s pussy pad take me?

Follow Gideon and Mahalia on their journey Through a Glass and discover the twists and turns that have made this my new favorite book by Layla Wolfe. I look forward to the next in the series and would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading well written stories with an adventurous and sexy theme. I happily rate this book 5 Stars!!

I was not expecting what I read, I have never really came across dealing with polygamy in books. I was amazed at how everything turned out. Layla I could sit and read your stuff everyday. Every time I have read your books it makes me feel like I am reading a whole new genre. Keep up the awesome work. Can't wait for more
4.0 out of 5 stars A new beginning. 21 Dec. 2015

Through A Glass, Darkly is a well balanced read with plenty of content. No boring parts and flows smoothly for a fast easy read. It touches on some sensitive subjects with taste and tact. It is full of plot twist and alot of surprises. I love Layla Wolfe books but this one I did not connect with the characters, probably more me than the storyline. I love the way she always thinks outside the box and can't wait to see where she takes this series. I received an arc in exchange for a honest review.
5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic read 24 Feb. 2016

I just want to say that I love Layla Wolfe's spin on this MC book. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it definitely won't be the last. The heroine of this book is Mahalie and she is the 40th wife of Allred Lee Chiles, a Mormon leader. The hero of this book is Gideon. He is exiled to Cornucopia because he was caught messing around with Chelsea, the MC Prez's old lady. Papa Ewey sent Tim Breakiron, his Veep, with him. What did he do to get exiled? It's revealed, if you read this book. Go on and one click, you know you want to. Although this is a love story, there's a whole other aspect to this book. I recommend reading this book to everyone, so you can enjoy the twists and turns like I did. I don't won't to give anything away, but you will definitely love Mahalia and Gideon.
4.0 out of 5 stars Bikers and Fundamentalists 21 Feb. 2016

Well done story about an outlaw biker club member who falls in love with the 40th wife of a fundamentalist Mormon sect leader. As Gideon attempts to free Mahalia and her daughter from clutches there is potential for real violence. An easy read that gave insight into what happens to women in these polygamous unions and moreover the some of the young men who are banished from the sect when they reach their teens. This is the first book in a series but is a complete story on it's own. I recommend this one.
