Mark Twain's aphorism that "Giving up smoking is easy; I've done it hundreds of times" is well-known, not least because so many smokers have tried so many different ways of giving up (and failed). Kelly, a qualified hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, has approached the problem from a novel angle and with an open mind, possibly having noticed the high failure rates of other quitting methods, such as patches and gum. And the result is a superb book for anyone wanting to quit but not sure how to do it - especially anyone who has tried and failed at other methods in the past. Kelly breaks down what is a very clever behavioural analysis into simple, easy-to-understand steps, giving readers all the tools necessary to enable them to stop smoking.

There is no magic cure for people wanting to quit smoking. With a (very) little dedication, however, this book can work wonders in changing your understanding of why you smoke, leading you to the inevitable conclusion that it is really quite easy to become a non-smoker.

It certainly worked for this reviewer. Highly recommended.

If you want to stop smoking - you will with this book. The exercises were really interesting and I didn't realise my thinking affected not just smoking but my self-esteem too. I don't smoke now and I don't want to, I love fresh air, don't cough anymore, I don't feel embarassed and breathless from stairs and I feel happier and understand myself so much better than ever before. It was so much simpler than I expected to just stop. You don't need good luck - you need this book.

For anyone who needs a little help in quitting smoking, all you need is this book! Robs approach is unique and it works, I've not only quit smoking but I've also learnt about my behaviours toward smoking and other areas of my life. I can honestly say this is the only successful technique I've found, and I've sought out many many different 'quit smoking' approaches over the years as a smoker. I can now proudly say I am an non-smoker! Thanks Rob.
