The sound is not good, the images are not good, but this the original Moody Blues band, including the great Mike Pinder, this the only concert that has survived, apart from the Paris concert, here we can see the band at his best, full of streng, vigor, energy and vitality, we can see all members sing his own songs, Pinder sings Melancholy Man. The film includes an introduction and coments by all the moodies, Mike Pinder included, subtitles in german, french, and spanish.
This a fantastic film, if you are a moodies fan since the sixties take it right now!!

This is the real Moody Blues. The ones you fell in love with in the late '60s after the 1st 3 albums. No overdubs, no multitracking, no stage backdrops, no light show, no stage clothes, no orchestras or banks of keyboards, no stage full of supporting players - just 5 guys in a rock band creating magic with the instruments they hold in thier hands. And what music it is! Live and loose and thoroughy enthralling. Justins guitar rips though his lines with a fluidity you seldom hear on the records, Grahames drumming shows clearly why he's so important to the bands sound - again, you may miss this on the records. The mellotron sound is inevitably a bit raw in this environment, and some of the trademark vocal harmonies get a bit lost in the wind, but you get the picture. The film misses some tracks on the CD, presumably the film wasn't shot or no longer exists, but the setlist does include a couple of songs that weren't live regulars (Melacholy Man, Tortoise and the Hare), so its great to hear them in this context. The band attack all the songs with a passion and freshness that would inevitably decline in the following decades. I was lucky enough to see them the following year (1971) in a small university gig and it was one of the greatest gigs i've ever seen. This dvd brought back splendid memories of that occasion, even though the audience is 500 times the size here! (If you want the full IOW 1970 experience, get 'Message to Love')
Only downer is 1st 20 minutes of dull interviews before we get down to the performance itself, but you can easily skip them after the 1st time.
I watched this with a broad smile across my face from ear to ear. Raw, live, real and highly recommended for longtime fans.

This is the Moddy Blues at their peak in 1970 playing all their hits at the Isle of Wight Festival. Excellent music and picture material for a very neglected prog-rock band who began it all before King Crimson, Barclay James Harvest etc. Definitely for Moody Blues fans. Ray Thomas does things on the flute that only Ian Anderson would better later with Jethro Tull( who incidentally also played the selfsame concert).
This is a look back at an era long gone by.

This product was received in record time and it transported me back 42 years to 1970. It is the only "live" record of the Moody Blues playing a festival. The sound quality and the film were excellent considering the technology back in 1970. I will never get tired of watching this DVD and cannot recommend it highly enough. It is a must for all Moody Blues fans!

The Moody Blues video from The Isle of Wight in 1970 is a nice looking back in Time for those who loves The Moody Blues.
Amazingly the 5.1. Sorround Sound is good, and you really can feel the Sprit from the Moody Blues at that time in their career - they are truly "on their Way up".
As a long time Moody fan (since 1967) this is a god Documentary for the '70s Music.

Live back in 1970, on the Isle of Wight. Fantastic live performance at the end of the hippy days.
