Praise for Barbara Taylor Bradford:

‘The storyteller of substance’ The Times

‘Few novelists are as consummate as Barbara Taylor Bradford at keeping the reader turning the page. She is one of the world’s best at spinning yarns.’ Guardian

From the Back Cover

They were inseparable friends

Once, Alexandra, Kay, Jessica and Maria shared all the excitement of studying at a prestigious art school in Paris. But, by the time they left for different corners of the world, the four girls were sworn enemies.

So when, years later, invitations to celebrate their tutor's eighty-fifth birthday arrive, nostalgic memories are stirred, along with curiosities and regrets. During three eventful weeks in Paris, the four women return to old haunts, rekindle once strong ties an re-awaken in each other the sense of wonder and adventure they had cherished so long ago.

I found it intriguing and I like the way barbara writes her stories always leading you on. Never want to put her novels down oh the twists and turns of life. I am learning more about places plus snippets of history some known and some not. A GOOD READ

Unrealistic characters, predictable story lines and a very dull ending. Not exactly a page turner. I kept reading in the hope that something unexpected would happen, but no. More of an opportunity for the author to demonstrate her knowledge of Paris.
Not one of BTB's better efforts.

Over the years I've read a lot of Barbara's books,( and will be placing other online reviews of her works.

This story follows the life of a couple of best friends that met at college, but like life, nothing lasts forever and their friendship turns sour. After they graduate they all go their separate ways and experience completely different lives. They all get an invitation to a birthday party, but will they all go? You have to read the story as I really don't want to spoil it for you.

This novel isn't one of her best but I did enjoy and found it a compelling read. :-)

I have only started reading this book but it has completely enthralled me. It is ver interesting and very easy to get into. It is about four girls, Kay, Jessica, Maria and Alexa and they all attended the same art school run by someone called Anya. They also also all have a past in Paris. It is fascinating and I can`t wait to find out what happens.

This book was really enchanting, and so beautifully written that I could not put it down even if it was late at night.I felt like I was there with the characters and wish there was a part 2 of the book. She is a great author and I enjoy reading books by her.
