About the Author

Patricia Dixon was born in Manchester in 1964 and is married with two very grown up children and one gorgeous grandchild. After studying Fashion at Preston Polytechnic in the 80's she started her working life in London amidst the mad world of couture and designer tantrums. When the sparkle eventually wore off she returned to Manchester to a more sedate existence travelling the UK producing clothing for high street stores. Twenty five years later, after swapping fashion for bricks and mortar and working alongside her husband in their building company, she found herself with an empty nest and her secret ambition to write novels could at last become a reality. The inspiration for her first novel À Bientôt was a combination of places visited and the many wonderful characters she has met during her time in the Loire Valley where she has a second home. Her follow up novel Trois Mères was released in June 2014 and in this tale we revisit St Pierre to catch up with its inhabitants, meet new characters and discover how Rosie came to be in France. This was followed in November by her third novel, set in the Loire around Christmastime where romance blossoms at Rosie's hotel. A Perfect Summer Wedding was released in March 2016. Patricia receives letters from readers worldwide and loves to hear from you so if you would like to share your thoughts on any of her novels or just get in touch to say hi, she always writes back ! The photographs shown on this and her Facebook page are snapshots of the Loire and from around her home, which provide inspiration for her writing. Everything written comes from the heart, is a reflection of real life experiences or those shared with others and woven into a tale that unearths the things that matter to everyone.

Loved Patricia's first book and I was hoping I would love her 2nd book as much or even more and guess what? I did. A fantastic story, lovable characters and a inspiring tale of overcoming and getting that happy ever after. Bring on the next one!

I loved this book from the beginning. It reminds me of some of the saga-type tales of Maeve Binchy, but in a nice change Patricia Dixon is just that much younger than me and the 'early years' of these characters are set in the 1980's - 90's rather than the 1950's. I was totally engrossed in the lives of Tina and Rosie, the main characters, and eventually found myself wondering where the third mother in the story was. But this author is so good at springing surprises in her novels and this was a great one! There is her usual emphasis on the loyalty of friends, the fact that family members can sometimes be not worth the effort no matter how hard one tries, and a satisfactory tying up of all the ends for a lovely ending.

I loved the way this story examined the often complex relationship between mothers and daughters. It displayed the longing for a mother's love from the daughters, the failings of two mothers too wrapped up in themselves or in a sense of propriety, and the longing of one mother to share her boundless love. I really enjoyed the roller coaster of emotions on offer and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who loves a good 'family' story. It also makes me want to visit France.

After reading the other two books by Patricia and loving Rosy and her French hotel together with her matchmaking mischief, this book is about where it all began and her best friend Tina, who was also her younger cousin. It made painful reading sometimes and the the two girls trying to be there for each other through trying times, but the story eventually led to France where again Rosy's hotel worked its magic. The book was well researched and made you keep reading, hoping for a rainbow after the stormy beginning. I loved the other two books and this completed the series for me, even though they can be read in any order, I hope there will be more.

I came across Patricia's two books by scrolling through the Kindle store. I had never heard of her but am so so glad I selected both books!
Patricia has a knack of describing everything in great detail without being boring or losing the interest of the reader. Whilst some parts are predictable the path she takes to get there are full of intrigue and keep the reader fully absorb. I hope the story of Rosie and family continues as I for one cannot wait for the next book.

I loved this story, there were sad bits and happy ones, but so wonderful at the end. The book is quite long which is good but it is one of the ones that you cannot put down. I love France and live there for nearly half the year so books where the story takes place in France are most enjoyable

This book is kind a prequel to her first novel A Bientot. It tells the story of the early lives of Rosie and Tina from her first book and then brings in Olivia, Tina's mother-in-law. Well written and compulsive read. Hated having to put it down to go to work when having an early morning read!

I loved this book - the characters are strong and the locations atmospheric. Having read 'A Bientot' and 'La Petite Maison a Noel', a wonderful tapestry has been created where people and places are interwoven in a way that makes me feel that I'm part of the story.
My only criticism is about the punctuation - at times the incorrect use of commas and apostrophes was confusing and a bit irritating. Proof reading might have sorted this out. Sorry to be picky.
