Product Description

Product Description

Featuring a cast and production crew that reads like a Who's Who of British Sixties talent, Three Hats for Lisa is an exuberant, whimsical and utterly irresistible musical romp set in the heart of Swinging London; Sidney Hayers directs, while Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer Leslie Bricusse supplies the songs. Three Hats for Lisa is available here in a brand-new transfer from the original film elements.

French movie pin-up Sophie Hardy is Lisa Milan, a gorgeous Continental film star who's just arrived at Heathrow. She's in London for the premiere of her latest film, but within minutes she's been whisked away by her number-one fan, Johnny Howjego and his Cockney pals Sammy, Flora and cabbie Sid. The film traces the quartet's adventures as they take in the capital's iconic sights and sounds in the pursuit of three very important and typically British souvenirs for Lisa: a bowler, a busby, and a policeman's helmet!

I have this film on VHS. Have seen it many many times. Story great. Songs great. Actors great. It has Sid in it - NO more needs to be said. Long overdue release. Family film. Good to see "old" London, before all the congestion.

I first saw this excellent film at Saturday Morning Pictures in the early 1970's. I bought this because I have a fascination with moving and still images of London from the 1950's and 60's. Now sadly all disappeared and is now a hostile environment to live and work. Some great scenes and my favorite being the dance sequence on the upper level of London Wall.

I hadn't seen this film for over 20 years, so I thought I'd buy it as it is unlikely it'll be shown on TV again. The entertainment value really lies in the street scenes of swinging 60s London, and spotting familiar acting faces of the period. There is a story line as the title suggests, the main character a French actress called Lisa wants to collect three different hat types unique to London and the problems involved in getting them.Pretty lightweight as a story. Additionally, the songs aren't that great either although the great Leslie Bricusse was involved. Certainly not his finest moment, musically speaking. Who would ever have thought there would have been a song written about Bermondsy!! I Can't recommend this to any other than the staunchest 1960s Brit film fans like myself.

As a fan of Joe Brown I looked forward to the film but was disappointed as it contained several unmemorable songs and although the London setting was great everyone seems embarrassed by the lame storyline and songs

Fantastic picture quality on this quirky snip of the 60s,Joe Brown was amazing in his energy and singing, so too was Una Stubs, full of dancing and singing with a look around London, that film must have been made to advertise the city for tourism, again i must say just how great the picture on screen is,this could have been made yesterday, its that good.

Slow start but once it gets moving its quite enjoyable. Some of the music is poor but over all it's ok. Joe Brown was and still is a wonderful character and singer-musician. If you remember the early Sixties you may well like this.

Brought this a few weeks ago to watch when the World Cup was on, & I'm glad I brought it, Joe Brown & Sid James are the main stars, lots of laughs, singing & dancing.
Network DVD have done a great job of releasing British films in the last few months.
