The tale of the advetures and rivalries between the well established Fosdycks of Bramblewick and newcomers the Lunns. This is a world of fishermen whose work is determined by the weather and tides. It is a novel of conflict, between progress and tradition between man and the sea and between life and death.

Though I have lived many years away from the sea, I have only to open this book, and I am back there with these fishermen. I can smell the sea, feel the wind on my face. Relive hauling the pots with my father.
To me this book is an unequaled account about the fishermen on the north East coast.
A real gem. Treasure this author, he's a real writer.
