Another on the fence read for me. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. It was an alright read, I’d recommend it but I wouldn’t shout at the roof tops about it I’m afraid. I think this had the potential to be something much better.
The basic plot line and characters are there but lacked some definition and development, in particular Duke. Oh we get what Brie is and what’s she’s all about. I found her to be spoilt and sulky despite the author trying to convince us otherwise. These are not redeeming qualities for a main character and I’m afraid I didn’t feel that hook with her. I found it difficult to connect and keep up with her as she was so back and forth all the time. Some of her decisions were very questionable and it tarnished the plot. We don’t get so much about Duke in all honesty, it’s like he’s a stronger secondary character playing his role quietly. There wasn’t a lot of romance in this either, for having that insta kind of love I expected a little more than what I was given.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a half decent read but I think when you have a character such as Brie she lets the whole thing down. I noted a few inconsistencies (which I hate seeing)but the writing was good enough to keep me reading.

This book felt rushed - it was poorly written in places and requires the services of an editor. How many times did we really need to hear about the 'beautiful stranger' or 'beautiful man' within the space of a few paragraphs? Throughout this book, the only saving grace was Duke Thrasher and his team.

I have honestly never disliked a heroine more than Brianna - she was immature, whiny, selfish and annoying. Her attitude and actions ruined my enjoyment of the book, and she comes across as a sixteen year old girl, rather than a woman. Brianna makes a discovery that leaves her feeling betrayed, so she immediately cuts all ties with Duke and finally moves out of the parental house into her own home (paid for by her parents, of course). She knows she loves Duke, but despite this she still has sex with her new security guard and then gives him the brush-off. Shortly after that, she meets a random man in a bar and allows him to take her home. Things do not go as planned and Duke ends up saving her from her 'too stupid to live' moment.

I really didn't care at all what happened to Brianna after she decided not to tell Duke she had sex with another man. I wasn't invested in her relationship or whatever else occurred in her life. I felt sorry for Duke, he obviously loved her but he deserved someone better.

Not entirely a bad book, the writing was sporadically good but there was a lot of room for improvement.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. All of the characters meshed so well together, and the author wrote with such passion it came across on every page. I adore Brie - she displays so many persona's from level headed teacher chastising drunken teenagers, to stroppy daughter reacting to parents, then you find her hot and horny, going after what she wants. Duke is my new favourite book boyfriend - strong, tough, determined - yet not afraid to show emotion and feeling. Throw in so many additional aspects on top of a great love story, to include friendships, heartache, danger, will they/won't they. This story comes with a warning - you will not be able to put it down. A stand-alone story that will have you ensnared in its brilliance. If you like Janelle Denison or Lynn Rae Harris, you will definitely enjoy K.S. Smith's writing!

I wasn't sure what this was going to be about after reading the title - however it wasn't what I expected, Thrasher is the name of the main male character.
He's exactly what readers expect in this genre, a handsome, tough, caring, alpha man, in this case, a former marine. The main female character? She's a bright, sassy teacher whose parents are the state Governor and his wife. It's a typical romance with the usual spanners in the works.
Another reviewer said there was a few clichés in this and after a while you notice that are a few peppered in.
It's well written and wraps up nicely with a HEA.
Suitable for older readers due to content (sex).

This is quite a tough review for me to write, not because I'm going to be harsh but because I just don't know how I feel about this book yet. On one hand, I read it in one sitting...didn't want to put it down. I loved the boys, those boys are just lovely! But in the other, it felt rushed. There could have been so much more to this book but it just wasn't there. And I just can't get over the fact she didn't tell him about the other guy (I'm trying to be as evasive as I can)!!! I liked it, didn't love it. I'd still read more from Ms Smith.

I felt that this book had the premise to amazing. I though the basic plot outline and characters were great and had so much potential. However, a lot of the scenes just felt rushed and left me wanting so much more.

It's not that I didn't enjoy this book because actually I really did, it's just that I felt it could have been so much more.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love the story, it's different to those that I've read before.

The connection between the main characters was amazing, I love hearing about the different type of work they did,

Please give it ago, you won't regret it
