Product description

About the Author

Hari Kalymnios studied Physics with Astrophysics at the University of Manchester where he earned a First Class Honours degree. Following his degree, Hari’s continued desire to learn and grow saw him spend three years independently travelling the world, meeting and getting to know a variety of people and cultures. On returning to the UK, Hari settled into a city profession, however his real passion lay in health and fitness which led him to pursue those areas instead. Frustrated at seeing colleagues feeling lacklustre, de-energised or suffering with their health or weight, Hari sought to understand what it was that made the difference. Why is it that some people can be the size they want, exercise (or accomplish whatever their goals in life are) when others can’t? Hari wanted to know the reason. His research led him to studying several fields including health, fitness, nutrition, psychology and NLP amongst others. Distilling the most useful parts of his research, coupled with his own lifetime of experiences, Hari has detailed in an extremely easy-to-read and companion-led book, the steps needed for a person to make noticeable shifts in their thinking. And hence be able to take perceptible and genuine steps to achieving their goals. Hari is 35 years old and lives in London where he runs his website and business for helping people achieve their health goals – www.TheThoughtGym.com

Format: Paperback
The Thought Gym is simply an excellent book. The literature out there on this genre is extensive, exhausting and often ineffective. Through studying the works of revolutionary life improvement experts, doctors, scientists and researchers, Hari has brought together their ideas (saving the reader the trouble!) and much more, combining them with his own unique and honest outlook on the area of health and wellbeing. The difference is in the honesty. Hari provides a very honest and simple look at making practical and effective improvements for the mind, body and soul that are aimed to last a lifetime. The book is easy to read and the exercises practical and easy to manage. Compliance is always an issue with these types of texts but Hari skillfully presents his ideas and thoughts that engage the reader on all levels favouring success. This is more than just a self improvement manual...this is a game changer.

I picked this book up more intrigued by the title than anything else, but also because the concept of training my mind was an interesting one. Anything that might change my 'bad' thinking into something more productive, without even having to rely on willpower, was worth further investigation. What I found in reading "The Thought Gym" was a book that layed out a clear path (in a very easy to follow format) that is helping me to achieve my goals. I've read several fitness/dieting/health books before but none really 'clicked' with me, and now I know why.

The author, Hari Kalymnios, seems very knowledgeable in this area and the book is constructed in such a way that it guides you, and becomes more than just a book. Hari appears to have thought of everything - including providing both audio and video support tutorials for the processes he gets us to do. I'm glad that there's finally a no-nonsense book on the market and one which looks at the long term too - not just the quick fix solutions that many other diet and health books promote. If you're considering buying The Thought Gym, then I would strongly encourage you to make that additional step. You won't regret it!

After reading various self help books to further develop myself, I turned into a sceptic and was disenchanted by the fact none of them fulfilled exactly what they set out to do on the front cover or in the first few pages. Many would skirt around their promise for 300 pages with you anxiously waiting for the vital pieces of info to change your life.

I was still anxiously waiting... until I discovered this book. This promising new author is the first to go against that grain. His vocabulary, style of writing, in-depth knowledge and life-changing solutions to common contemporary issues, enables you to change your game and fulfil your life to how you've always dreamt of it to be.

For all you ditherers... Take a chance on this book, you won't regret it.

I'm always on the lookout for inspiration regarding my health. I found it in the Thought Gym. After reading the book, I decided to follow through on a few of Hari's insights. I'm pleased to say he was right. I improved my thinking towards dieting and exercising. I especially found Hari's advice on breaking up a daily routine helpful. Too often a person can get stuck in a robotic set of daily actions. Changing even the smallest details really can make a difference. Overall, a great book and would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their diet or wanting to exercise more.

A very practical, action orientated book filled with humourous anecdotes and written in light hearted tone, I took away much wisdom on fixing bad lifestyle habits and optimising my diet which I plan to action with immediate effect.

Rather than give a life style how-to list, a change your attitude sort of approach, Hari Kalymnios has built a resource library in one book that can either give you a thought and action for the day, or a set of daily tasks and thoughts that could fill a week of focused activity in one topic.

Thoroughly enjoyable read, I look forward to the writer's next instalment - highly recommended

The author has taken well known theories and explained a very practical way of applying them. The interactive style is very refreshing. you do need to be in the right frame of mind, as with all self help books this is not about persuading you to do what you know you should, but once you know you want something, this provides an excellent, achievable thought process guide to keep you on the straight and narrow and achieve your goals. Hair has a knack for identifying and sidestepping your brain's weak spots.

This book has really helped me make positive changes and create new habits to make me feel much more energetic and keep in better shape!

There are a number of exercises to do which people may be tempted to skip, each takes about 5-10mins, these I found were very powerful and are the stepping stones to achieve the body you want by thinking the right thoughts and creating better habits.

Simple to read and follow and one of the best books I have read to actually deliver lasting changes and results! Highly recommended.
