The full story of the Roman Games - the costliest, cruellist spectacle of all time.

The film Gladiator, I feel must have been heavily based on Daniel Mannix's work.
This book appears to be out of print. But again some scenes from the later Roman Circus are extreme.
An absorbing but at times chilling read.
Great read - out long before Gladiator give you an insight of what it was really like to be in the arena.
