This is a brilliant book. You really have to buy it and give it a read. It is a great modern take on sleeping beauty. What would you do if you fell asleep for a thousand years and woke up in a vw van? It is a great laugh and vyou will never want it do end.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Reads Ever!!!! 29 Mar. 2001
By rcarey22 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I just finished one of the best fantasy novels ever. "Thoroughly Kissed" was simply awesome. The story of the "true" Sleeping Beauty, Emma Lost who is alive and kicking in the modern world after a thousand year sleep. Emma who has had to learn everything about the past and present history from the scratch has become a distinguished professor at a University has found out she has come into her magic a lot sooner than she expected and it is completely out of control and she needs help in reaching Portland in order to learn how to control the magic she now possesses. Did I mention, Emma is a witch. The new chairman of the history department, Michael Found is immediately smitten on his first sighting of the most beautiful woman he's ever seen, Ms. Lost but has his doubts about her teaching capabilities and wants her gone from the University but he soon realizes that magic does exist and finds that he is willing to do anything to help Emma Lost as he has already lost his heart to her. Emma Lost and Michael Found are the definite made for each other but of course they have to go through all the hurdles before they realize they are truly meant for each other. Emma makes the ultimate sacrifice and gets the man she desires. The only bad thing which occurred after reading this wonderful novel was that I found out there was a previous novel "Utterly Charming" which I should have read before reading this one, which may or may not have given me more insight into the life of Emma and her teacher Aethelstan "Alex" Blackstone. But you must know I ran out and purchased "Utterly Charming" before I finished "Thoroughly Kissed". Don't pass on this novel cause it's one of the best romance novels to hit the bookstores in recent times. Believe me you will receive great pleasure from reading this fantastic story.

5.0 out of 5 stars The title can throw you off...... 17 April 2001
By Michele J - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Emma Lost and Michael Found...Lost and Found...is a great premise for the story of "Sleeping Beauty" and how she is found. The title does throw one off, however, cause there isn't much kissing going on in the book, nor anything else of that nature...but this book was very enjoyable as a fantasy read. The humor was entertaining between the cat, Darnell, Michael, and Emma. I especially loved it when "The Ghost of Christmas Present" showed up, or whoever he is. I see he is going to have his own book next, "Completely Smitten". That I will certainly buy!! Now I just have to go out and buy "Utterly Charming"!!!! But anyone who loves fantasy, fairy tales, and good escapist reading, I recommend this book wholeheatedly!! I finished it in one day. Good reading!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly Kissed 20 Mar. 2001
By Bridgett - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Thoroughly Kissed is Kristine Grayson's sequel to the hilarious Utterly Charming. The book picks up with Emma Lost ten years after Utterly Charming left off. Emma is now a professor in the history department at a university in Madison, Wisconsin. Emma is a witch and all female witches come into their magic after menopause. Now Emma believes that she is only 30, (she was in a magically induced coma for 1000 years after she was kissed) so she hasn't been apprenticed yet and has no idea how to control her magic when it suddenly comes into her life.
Michael Found is the new Chair of the History department and he thinks that Emma isn't fit to be a teacher and has gotten by on her incredible good looks, not her ability (she was the basis for Sleeping Beauty afterall). When her magic goes awry at work, he gets caught up in some of the spells and is talked into driving with her to Oregon.
The book deals with Emma's journey to Athelstan's home in Oregon to learn about her magic and also her growing romance with Michael--even though she has sworn off kissing. This book was funny, smart, and one of those books that leaves you with a smile on your face and believing that true love really does exist!

4.0 out of 5 stars Love Sleeping Beauty ? Check out this Rendition 6 Jan. 2013
By Paula L. Phillips - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Have you been following my reviews on Kristine Grayson's books as I stumble and read through her Fates series ? So far I have read Books #1 , 8 , 2 , the novella Standing up for Grace and the anthology Geek Romance.
Now get ready for Book #2 Thoroughly Kissed as I bring to you a fractured fairytale version of Sleeping Beauty. It seems that Sleeping Beauty is all the rage as Kill me Softly featured a version of the same tale. In Thoroughly Kissed we meet Emma Lost , she was awoken ten years ago from a curse that had her put to sleep over 1000 years ago when she was in her twenties. Now a Professor at the local Madison University, Emma specialises in the Dark Ages and early England. Her time of existence , before her magical induced coma. All has been plodding well for her until now. Emma has just come into her powers, but the thing is she hadn't expected it for another twenty years and now with her powers raging out of control , she must visit the "Fates" in order to control them before terrible things happen. The worst thing though is that its not just her powers she has to worry about as the last time she was kissed, it was by the wrong person and it landed her in a deep magical coma for 1000 years. Is Professor Michael Found , Emma's Prince Charming ? Can she prove to him that magic is real and that she isn't a fraud ?
Find out in Book #2 Fates Series - Thoroughly Kissed by Kristine Grayson and discover what happens when the Fates are on your side

3.0 out of 5 stars Modern twist to Sleeping Beauty 1 Jun. 2012
By Kim Adams - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.- Confucius

Everyone sees Emma Lost's allure, not realizing that she is Sleeping Beauty who has awakened from after a 1000-year comma. How's a medieval beauty to make a living in the 21st century? She teaches history. Then Emma meets Michael Found, returning from a sabbatical where he literally walked around England to learn more about the history of magic. As he assumes the position of department head, he is appalled that academics and students praise Emma for her insight to medieval history. Just as both decide to avoid the other, Emma's magic comes to life. She must travel back to Oregon and learn how to control them from a seasoned wizard (aka Prince Charming whose kiss put her in the 1000 year coma). Emma asks Michael to accompany her - if her powers go awry, he can say the safe words to undo any spell. In exchange for his companionship, Emma will help Michael write a book on magic's history.

Their road trip gives them the opportunity to grow. Emma is understandably angry that she "lost" 1000 years of her life. She is attracted to Michael, but is afraid to kiss another man for fear of another falling into another comma. Michael is skeptical of her academic abilities. Their time together inspires each to overcome apprehensions of the other. THOROUGHLY KISS is a lighthearted "magical" story with no sex scenes - it's all about the emotional attraction that develops between two beautiful people.

THOROUGHLY KISSED is Kristine Grayson's second book in her Charming series - modern twists to fairy tales. Grayson gave the reader a few references to understand Emma's relationship with Prince Charming from Book One, UTTERLY CHARMING. Yet I often found myself stopping to reread the references in THOROUGHLY KISSED to connect the secondary characters. Therefore, I recommend reading UTTERLY CHARMING before THOROUGHLY KISSED for the story to flow steadily.

THOROUGHLY KISSED is a reissue - it was first published in 2001 as Kristine Grayson's second book. It had a "dated" feel to it, generating the three star rating. But it was still an enjoyable read with Sleeping Beauty finding her way in a contemporary world. THOROUGHLY KISSED intrigued me enough to look for other books in the series, including other reissues and even new books from Grayson.

I received an ARC from Sourcebooks for this review.
