This was one of those books that while I found a lot of it far fetched, it was strangely addictive and I couldn't stop reading.

I have a soft spot for War seeing as some of my family suffer with OCD. While some of his obsessive thoughts can seem quite amusing and weird, it's still realistic in how sufferers think and feel.

I'm not sure how I feel about Baylee...War's character seemed better written. Baylee's character is a bit of a conundrum! However, I definitely think she will come into her own in book 2.

The thing I struggled with understanding is as lovely as War's father was but knowing the things his son suffers with, when he discovered he had bought 17 year old Baylee, I would have thought the first thing he would do is take her away from his unbalanced son and return her straight to her family, nevermind if she protested?

I'm sure more will be revealed in the concluding book. Yes there is a big cliffhanger and I don't normally like continuation books but seeing as the second book will release in March, then I didn't mind as much and I'm looking forward to reading it. I have already guessed one thing that will come to light and I know that will be difficult for War to come to terms with...

Wow, totally gripping, dark and captivating

I wrestled with 4 star because the story isn't over yet but the fact is K Webster had me gripped despite the outcome unknown yet.

Told in 2 parts with three characters and in each persons pov's you are transformed in the the thoughts and feelings of each character and at times it's an eerie place to be.

Baylee, captured, taken, betrayed taken to the darkest place a person could go, a place against all morals having to surrender to her captor.

Gabe, pure evil, obsessed, sick and twisted and deceptive and nothing more than a human trafficker and a low life human being.

Warren, a saviour to Baylee and vice versa she gradually starts to save him back.

He seems to own parts of my soul that I never knew were available for others to take. But he doesn't just take from me. In I'ts place he gives me parts of him that I will treasure forever.

I felt for Warren, the nightmare life he daily lives, extreme OCD and other isdues and his need for another's company and the reason he bought Baylee from the auction.

She's the sun, water, and earth and I'm a seed that has hope to grow into something strong and beautiful because of her.

Very cleverly written with a feeling of suspense and the unknown.

Definitely reading the next book.

WOW…..heed the warning on this book….this is totally not for the faint-hearted, but my word did I enjoy it. I have to doubt whether I am a little twisted myself after enjoying this book so much. After reading it I instantly bought the following two to the series and read the second one in a day. I absolutely loved them.

It IS shocking read and it will drag you to some very dark depths, but it is just so readable. Love the innocence mixed with evil, light mixed with dark. It is totally worth the read. Admittedly not many people will find reading about human trafficking their cup of tea but what lies under it all is something so lovely that it more than makes up for the shadows of dark.

This is a cruel tale of poor Baylee who was stolen, brutalised and sold for a slave……..but it transforms into a lovely love story if you go with it. Don’t be put off as there is also hope, light and feelings too in this fab read. I have so much empathy for War, at first you are like ‘yeah right!’ but oh how he won me over.

You will be hooked after the first few chapters and buy all of them straight away like me. Just be warned, like me do not read it on your commute home; it makes for a very red faced journey home!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the author K Webster for an advanced copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Freaking amazing! I'm straight on to number two in this series just released. I could not get enough of the plot and the characters!

Dark romance is a genre I like when it's done well and this is done brilliantly. I'm not going to go into the plot too much but the book starts in darkness then allows brilliant shafts of lights to shine through. Is it realism? I didn't really care, I just was engrossed in the book and forgot the outside world.

War is a character, a male character and I LOVE him. Oh! How he endeared himself to my heart. Brilliantly represented and a character with so many elements of light and shade, so broken, so likeable, so different. War is a special guy.

This is not a classic love story so go in with zero expectations. In fact if you've never delved into this genre this would be a good starting place. The plot just developed and rolled out and I knew I was going to have to get the next book in the series.

The ending left me speechless, what a cliffhanger!

I don't remember the last time I finished a book on such an ending and whizzed straight over to Amazon to buy the next one, but I did. My review of This is Love, Baby is getting written next!

5 stars, entertaining, enjoyable, different. I'm so glad this is a new genre for me I keep exploring as its way out of my normal reading zone.

I received a copy of this book thanks to the author via NetGalley.
