This is the first book I have read by Rance. I found it similar in style to my favourite author Mike Gayle and that was what attracted me to the book initially.

The book is written in a diary style of short chapters. It is well written and easy to imagine the main character Harry. The story follows down the line of concerns regarding growing older and responsibilities. He seems to spend quite a bit of time in the shed and commenting on the weather. The real life dilemmas of a 30's couple feature throughout.

The book would suit male or females 30-40 years of age.
It is easy to pick up and put down again. I will certainly read the next in the series based on this.

Im not a big fan of funny books, as they rarely make me laugh. This one definitely did and it reminded me to be more patient with my boyfriend from time to time as the male approach to life sometimes is just very funny.

Very LOL funny at times but also very observant. Been there done that got the t-shirt and the matching key ring. A very down to earth story about love, life and marriage in general. Thoroughly enjoyed myself!

I bought this book to read on holiday, didn't get round to it, but my husband picked it up and laughed, sniggered all the way through! After taking a glance I now know why! Typical man's view of life! I would recommend to someone who doesn't take life to seriously and who isn't a feminist!

When a book has you laughing out loud halfway through the 1st page of the opening chapter, you know you've found a gem. I absolutely loved this and couldn't believe it was on free download. I would've gladly paid for such a brilliant, well written funny book that covers the seriousness of real life.

Written in the form of a diary, the protagonist, 32 yr old Harry, is funny, loveable and a tad stupid in a normal and relatively true to life way. The secondary characters, particularly his wife, Grandad, mates (and the squirrel) are all fabulous, bringing content to the story and the serious moments (which did tug on the heart strings) were blended with perfectly timed humour. My husband has now downloaded this due to the amount of laughing he has heard all afternoon (although I am banning him from reading it in bed). Can't recommend it enough whether you are male or female.

I bought this book as it was a Kindle offer and I wasn't disappointed. The story is funny, emotional and will probably ring true with many people in their early 30's! I will definitely be looking for more of Jon Rance's books on Amazon.
