Hannah had been a widow for 18 months and the only thing that gets her out of bed in the morning is her adorable daughter Abby. When her brother in law returns home it really knocks her for six and forces her to look at her life and how she’s coping
Losing a loved one is hard, it doesn’t matter if you’ve had time to say goodbye or like Drew if it was unexpected. I felt the author portrayed Hannah’s grief perfectly, every word was an accurate representation of a family in torment.
Wes is not just Drew’s brother he’s an identical twin, I felt her confusion when she looks at him and little Abby looking at her uncle but seeing her daddy. As you read the book you get the back story of how they all met and for me this was a ‘sliding doors’ moment.
I loved reading the story of how they all fell in love it was heartfelt and beautifully written.

This book started with a slightly different premise, Hannah a widow with her young daughter Abby still trying to recover from her husband dying from a heart attack in his thirties while jogging. Some time has passed and she is working and trying to keep brave face on. Then Wes her dead husband’s identical twin comes home to take over his father’s practice.
When Hannah first starts to feel desire for Wes she puts it down to missing Drew and that her body is confused. Wes on the other hand has always loved Hannah, when he first met her he was too shy to say anything, and after weeks trying get courage up. Drew met her once and swept her of feet. Drew was always the outgoing twin.
We watch them proceeding with caution but before long they enjoy spending time together. Hannah begins to realise that she loves Wes. He was a perfect man for her and even liked it a little rougher in the bedroom. I really loved his character he was the perfect man always putting Hannah and Abby first.
There is a lot of raw emotions in this book with a family trying to cope after a great loss that effects them all. I was emotionally raw after reading this gripping but emotionally draining romance. I loved it all even if I was blubbering mess. Melanie Harlow has outdone herself with this book.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review
Hannah’s dreams of happily ever after with her husband, Drew, have been cruelly taken from her and now she is faced with raising her young daughter as a single mother. She puts on a good face for her daughter’s sake, throwing herself into her work, but her heart is broken and moving on with her life over a year after Drew’s death is still proving to be a difficult challenge.
Drew’s twin brother, Wes, returns home from Africa and Hannah can’t deny the attraction she feels towards Wes. Is this real, or is she confusing her feelings with those of her dead husband. I felt awful for Hannah during this time. She’s trying so hard to do the right thing, taking care of her daughter and starting a new life. I admired her strength and perseverance when it came to Abby. It’s clear Wes is a totally different person than his brother, but Hannah felt so guilty and almost ashamed of the thoughts she was having. I can only imagine what a struggle that was for her. She was confused, yet starting to feel alive again with Wes around.
Everything about their attraction to one another is forbidden. What will people in their small-town think of them spending so much time together? Is Hannah only attracted to Wes because he is Drew’s identical twin? It’s sad and heartbreaking to read about how much they truly care for one another, but have to be so concerned about what everyone else around them thinks. I felt awful for them having to hide what their true feelings towards one another were. Everyone should want them to find happiness, right? I know I did, but some family members didn’t see eye to eye on their budding relationship.
This was an emotional journey to share with Hannah and Wes. It was so easy to sympathize with them. They both lost someone they loved dearly and that bonded them for life. The heart wants what the heart wants and Hannah has always been in Wes’s heart.
Speaking of hearts, Wes stole mine! He was so kind and compassionate towards Hannah. He supported her and didn’t pressure her while they were spending time together. He simply listened and followed her lead as they ventured into new territory. I loved Wes and Hannah together and was thrilled when Hannah realized that her feelings towards Wes had nothing to do with Drew. That was a beautiful turning point for their relationship and one that I was happy to be part of. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be! This story is meant to be read!
This will tug at every heart sting you have, Hannah oh Hannah what can I say, I have never ever wanted to reach into a book and hug someone so tight in my life. The strength she showed was just breath taking, without revealing too much Hannah loses her husband tragically and life will never be the same again, just when she can’t go on any more things happen.
I don’t want to give the story away as you need to read this story, its one in a lifetime. If you only read one book this year, make sure this is it.
