By book 6 of a series you often expect the story to start to lag, or begin to lose some of its original sparkle that led you to continue reading past the first book. But Denise Grover Swank manages to capture your imagination, and entire day, book after book.
Luckily I've had the day off work today so I've had the luxury of being able to sit and finish this latest instalment of Rose Gardner's shenanigans in one go - and I'm glad I did have the day off as I was drawn in from start to twisty finish.
We find Rose still getting herself into predicaments, Mason being secretive, Joe not being entirely open, Neely Kate in need of help and Skeeter Malcolm in need of Rose's 'unique services'.
I won't say anymore as I don't want to spoil anything, but if you've read and enjoyed the other 5 (and a half) books, you won't be disappointed by this latest visit into Rose's life.
I can't wait for the next one!

I have read five and six back to back so will just do a review for this one. I did enjoy the series up to this, but for me No 6 was way too far fetched to be in any way believable. In each of the books, there are a lot of updates from the previous book, which I find annoying,as I don't think these are stand alone books, and you would need to read the series, which is why I don't see the need for the updates and I feel at times they have become page fillers! Rose for me is starting to become a comic figure, which is a pity,as I really liked her in the beginning. The relationship between herself and Mason don't seem to have any depth, and I don't think we have ever seen a normal conversation between them, without it being full of innuendo,or one of the other wanting to rip the other's clothes off,and it's getting boring how many times you have to read that Rose has to position herself to give him better access:-) C'mon!

I hate abrupt endings, and that was as bad as they come. I really think this series has been stretched to it's limits, and I can just see No7 being pretty much the same, with this trip to New Orleans. If the next book don't reach a conclusion, then I won't be reading it,I feel this series is just going to go on and on and on..................... I would love to read a last book, with all loose ends tied up,and there are a lot of them!

On page 143 a character states that there is no difference between getting your boobs out to strip or to breastfeed. No pregnant woman or breastfeeding mother would ever think this. There is a massive difference between trying to feed your child and getting your breasts out for the sexual gratification of a bunch of perverts. Well done though, Swank. On behalf of all women who are trying to breastfeed and face disgusted looks and snide comments, even though you are giving your child the best start in life that you can, thanks very much for making that ridiculous comparison and reinforcing those losers point of view.

Ummm, pre ordered this book as I have been following the the exploits of Rose, but have to say was very disappointed as really just didn't go anywhere. Is there going to be another book I wonder as not one single story line has reached a conclusion, i feel everyone is still waiting for a story! What about Joe.Hillary, Rose's sister and the dastardly parents of Joe, what happened to Roses mum and where is Bruce Wayne? I'm not sure I'll bother with the next one (if there is one) as I feel the author could conclude a least some of these story lines instead there are more vague characters just added to the mix .

When you are reading it is almost as though you are there with Rose, Neely Kate. I found myself shouting out and laughing whilst reading the latest trials and tribulations of Rose Gardner. Thank you Denise xxx

Have read all Rose Gardner books but kind of struggled with this one. Its not that it wasn't a good story line or anything its because it does tend to be the same thing over and over again. I also cant make my mind up whether I want rose to be with Mason or Joe. Part of me wants Mason because I feel sorry for him but the other half is wanting Joe because he was her first love and I want them to sort Joe's dad out so they can be together but then I would feel sorry for Mason!

These books just get better and better. I really enjoy the stories and it's nice getting used to the characters. But there is always a surprise so it keeps you guessing.
Great books, highly recommend, can't wait to read the next one.

I was quite disappointed in this book, I've felt as the series has gone on its been getting lagging and repetitive.

We heard nothing about Joe and hilarys baby. We heard almost nothing from violet, Jonah and Bruce wayne.

I also feel that this book dragged on and was building up to be good but the book ends at 92% quite suddenly.
Not sure if I shall buy the next instalment.
