Its not possible to learn to drive one from a book but the chapter on trikes would have better written on driving a combo. Small point perhaps, however the vast American trikes with 5 litre V8s makes interesting reading. If you are thinking about a combo buy this book.
Only two reservations. First, there's a lot of stuff about trikes in it too; separate book really.
Second, there's a really a missing chapter on the extra skills necessary to pilot a combo. If I was a new rider I'd really want this. They are more challenging than they look and also more satisfying.
I have to declare an interest. I appear in the book myself on p.64. The chair's a Watsonian not a Velorex and under the grime there are a lot of subtle mods. But never mind. The pen portrait is hugely flattering and made my wife laugh.
The book is now about 2 years old, in these fast moving times, i wonder how out of date the address are? but abart from this small squibble, a very good all round book, for sidecarist's & trikers.
