Everyone in the US and UK should read this book and take the recommended action. We are entitled to get the truth about ufos and aliens from our elected representatives, what right do they have in withholding such important information concerning our place in the cosmos!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally! A book that covers the whole of modern UFO history 1 Mar. 2014
By pfe - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
There are so many books on the UFO subject and I've read dozons of them. This is the first one to mostly objectively tell the history of modern UFO history one volume.
If you are a newbie to the subject of UFO's this book is a must have for your library. Buy it today!
If you, like myself have studied this subject for 50 years you will find a lot in here that you already heard. But the book, like any good history book must repeat what you may already know, but that's what history is about.
I highly recommend this book as perhaps the best UFO book you can buy. Get it today! You won't be sorry.
2.0 out of 5 stars UFO status 11 Sept. 2014
By Peter Clarke - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
The authors views on status and it's effects on our culture are interesting but this book is not a definitive work on the UFO subject. It's easy to retell UFO stories, not only is it entertaining but it stimulates the readers imagination and that can be a trap for the unwary for this very reason.None of the sightings have any proof, they are retold as fact which I can't understand...there is no evidence that they actually happened, or if there is it's not explained in this book.
I think the UFO enigma is very compelling and important but this book didn't add to my knowledge base, except for the chapters on human status which is fascinating.
5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent read. I love the way Chism's mind works 14 July 2016
By Earl Grey - Published on Amazon.com

An excellent read. I love the way Chism's mind works, as the title states, this is really more philosophical in nature, utilizing Richard Dolan's research as a springboard, the author takes you on flights of all the 'what ifs', as well as the sociological implications of the UFO phenomenon. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the deeper implications of our cosmic visitors.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Thinking Person's UFO Book 4 Jun. 2009
By John B. Ringer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
First, and perhaps most importantly, this is a good read. Gordon Chism starts with the knowledge that UFOs are real -- because he saw one when he was young. Chism presents an interesting review of UFOs over the past 60 years, which, while far from unique, is productive. He is deeply sceptical about the government's handling of UFO situations, and he provides considerable evidence to support this. If the reader didn't mistrust the Feds prior to reading this book, he or she is very likely to afterward.

A weakness, in my opinion, is the lack of specific attribution for the case sutdies or sightings. While the casual reader won't care, following up would be difficult.

At the end, the author provides suggested letters and contacts for the reader to use in urging Congress to free up UFO data. While I couldn't agree more, I am too cynical to believe this would work. Still, no harm in trying.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Thinking Person's UFO Book 19 Dec. 2014

Outstanding book. He uses a lot of material from Richard Dolan. This book explains very well why people often can not accept the reality of UFO and aliens from other worlds. An excellent read.
