I bought this from Amazon warehouse deals at a reduced price because of a damaged box. However, the on-line activation code didn't work. I phoned Bristol magazines and they said to send the Amazon receipt to them. After 3 weeks contacted them and they said they hadn't received it - had I sent it recorded delivery! I then sent them an electronic copy of the Amazon receipt but they said it wasn't enough to demonstrate that I had bought a subscription [despite it saying "Who Do You Think You Are? Subscription Gift Pack ( 13 issues)"]. I sent them a picture of the box but they said they needed proof that Amazon had discounted the subscription. In the end Amazon had to phone them up to say I had done this and I had to send the box to Bristol magazines (costing me 75p in postage). They finally agreed to activate the subscription. I asked why I had all this hassle and they said it was an old box/activation code complicated by the reduction Amazon had made. I complained about having to pay extra postage but she just said I should be happy that I got it at reduced price from Amazon. Bristol magazines seemed to think it was Ok that I had had to make several phonecalls, emails and post things to them just to get the subscription that I had bought activated. It was advertised as reduced because of a damaged box, not because it would take me 2 months of hassle to get it activated. Just waiting for the first issue to arrive - hopefully. I have to say that Amazon were very helpful in sorting it out very promptly after contacting them. Just wish I had done that earlier.
