The whole series takes you on a roller-coaster of a journey, this being no different! Told from Caleb's point of view with small parts from noah and Olivia. It puts more of the missing pieces that the other book left you wondering about- Olivia's birthday present being one and what Caleb did do when olivia walked in on him at his office!
At times I wanted to throw my kindle out of frustration, shout at the characters, BUT it tells a unique twisted love story like no other and you cannot help get emotional along with the characters.
I Loved this book, sad that the series is finished, but cannot recommend this enough. If you've not read any of them then what are you waiting for!!!!!
Perfect perfect perfect!
Epic. That's the word that keeps drumming through my brain right now as I try to decide how to portray this story to you guys in a way that will sum up what I went through whilst reading it.
It was epic.
I'm so so sooo satisfied with this ending. It was just right. Everything. It was such a fantastic reflection of the entire series...
Things don't always go the way you want them to. Real life isn't perfect. It throws you curve balls when you don't expect it, but some things are worth the struggle.
"Why are you forever comparing me to animals, shoes and food?"
"Because, I see the world in different shades of Olivia. I'm comparing them to you - not the other way around."
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHETHER THIEF HAS A HEA OR NOT, STOP READING NOW!
This didn't have a fairytale ending. Not everything finished up with idealistic circumstances... but this is probably one of the romantic stories I have ever read. Just because it was unperfectly perfect. But it is their very own nonconformist happily-ever-after. I promise that you will not be left feeling disappointed or ungratified after all the work you put into this rollercoaster of a series. But your heart may feel a little sad as it really is a bitter-sweet ending. Tarryn Fisher will continue dropping bombs until the very last page of the book. It really isn't over until it's over. And it's worth every single second.
"Addiction," I say simply. "It can span an entire lifetime if untreated."
"What's the treatment?"
"I don't really care."
"Me neither," she says.'
I cried so hard at the end of the book.Read more ›
I won a couple of Amazon gift vouchers and the decision was made in the blink of an eye. I'd had The Opportunist for a while. Now was the perfect time to get the other 2 and have a Tarryn marathon whilst on holiday.
And oh I loved all three books, and Caleb totally had my heart. I was besotted. As in Dirty Red Caleb's story moves from present to past, from meeting our beautiful Olivia and showing the reasons for the decisions he made about the witch.
My hatred for Leah increased exponentially. Witch. Dirty. Manipulator.
I read a lot of the book in a total panic. I was actually shaking from 80% - scared and nervous. So many mistakes made. So made wrong conclusions jumped to. The world and Leah conspired against Caleb and Olivia. Heart sinking.
I've probably said it about every Tarryn Fisher book I've read but I will say it again, she is so clever. The plot, although the past part we know already becomes something new with each retelling. Like folk lore that morphs over time. The versions change until you don't quite remember the truth - everyone's truth is different, everyone's lies criss crossing in a whirl.
This is definitely the kind of trilogy where you get to the end and want to re-read it once the secrets are revealed just so you can read it again with a knowing smile.
Pearls of wisdom from Tarryn:
"Olivia burned. When she walked into a room you could feel her fire. It rolled off of her in waves. She was angry and passionate and fearless. She burned hot enough to keep everyone away. It was a good trick, except I played with fire.Read more ›
