Have not watched it all yet, but what I've seen is absolutely gripping. You just cannot tell who is lying and who is telling the truth. There are multiple threads and it moves fast. All in all, an excellent DVD and worth the price.
Thicker Than Water Season 1 is a Swedish drama series from 2013. It's about 3 siblings who are not close and don't get along with each other at all. The older brother and sister, a restaurateur and a stage actress in Stockholm, are sent for by their mother to come back to her guest house on the Island backwaters of one of the Aland Islands.(Swedish speaking autonomous Islands that are technically part of Finland) There the mother lives with her younger Son and his wife and child and they run the Guesthouse. The Mother has some things to discuss with all 3 of the Siblings and after talking to them and arguing with them all, she commits suicide out at sea.(This is not a spoiler as you can see she is going to do this at the very start of episode 1) The Mother then springs a surprise at the reading of her will that means all 3 Siblings have to spend the entire summer running the Guest house which is a ploy to attempt to bring them together. As the time goes by tensions boil over over various dark secrets, resentments and personal issues come to the fore. This drama was great from start to finish, you really engage with the characters, this is because the story is very well written and the characters are very believable. The acting was top notch from all the cast, nothing wooden here at all,all extremely competent and the actress Aliette Opheim who plays the sister looks absolutely stunning (she was recently in The 100 code on Sky Atlantic). The premise of the story was good and the production values of the highest quality, which we have come to expect from Scandinavian productions. I personally enjoyed this more than 2 other Scando drama's i've watched recently the Icelandic Trapped and the Danish Follow the Money, both of which were very good but I just preferred this more. This is quite similar to The Legacy and I would say that the legacy is better but it's still top notch Drama, would recommend this series very highly. 4 out of 5
