There is no 'S' in Matthew.
I had heard the name of this Scott Matthew before but hadn't realized he made such fresh and beautiful chamber pop music.
It's becoming sort of a lost art nowadays.
Very nice arrangements, good songs and a recognizable voice.
The whole record flows very well on its own mid-tempo.

The first track " Every travelled road" will lead you on with Scott Matthew and you will be listening to an excellent production. I am no expert but Scott has a unique, clear, understandable singing voice and combined with excellent instrumentation and backing this makes for an interesting and enjoyable listen to equal or surpass "ELSEWHERE". I rate it a 5 star in my book.

Bought this and the eponymous album on the belief that they were more of the same from the excellent Scott Matthews, only to be drastically disappointed in the realisation they are not one and the same.

So if you have been recommended one and find the other you might not get what the original source of your tip wanted you to hear! Found this dismal and dreary tbh, but that opinion might be coloured overly by my anger at finding there are 2 artists with the same name bar an extra "s".....

a great cd. The craftsmanship, artistry, and talented passion packed into every track is amazing. This almbum really took me to a different place, it really made me feel. His music is so beautiful and in ways, romantic feeling. It really struck a chord. As always, he is a perfect songbird.

HASH(0x86e275a0) out of 5 stars Beautiful album from an artist with a beautiful voice 24 Dec. 2014

I don't remember how I stumbled upon Scott Matthew, but I am glad I did. This is the second album of his I have purchased after the equally beautiful Gallantry's Favorite Son. This review works for both of these albums. His songs are incredibly beautiful and moving. Scott Matthew's voice has a vulnerable quality to it that brilliantly echoes his lyrics. I would also describe his voice as melodious and passionate and although he usually sings in a quiet tone, his voice does pack an emotional punch. Many of his songs are a bit melancholy, but not in a depressing way. I probably like Gallantry's Favorite Son slightly more than this album, but love them both and continue to listen to both of them regularly.

BTW, there is another artist by the name of Scott Matthews (with an "s" at the end of his name). This other artist may pop up on Amazon under a search for Scott Matthew, but his music is very different so don't confuse the two.
