Read this in one sitting and can't wait for the next....thought it was very different to another book and really enjoyed it. Not many twists as you knew from the start who was doing the killing and to be honest I was cheering her on haha....willing her not to get caught. Great book and good characters though wish she had got it together with Grayson I quite liked him!
Before starting the book, as normal, I quickly scanned the Goodread's reviews and was excited to get started. But I think I was reading a completely different book that the other reviewers.
Katherine Hope Jones survived a harrowing ordeal when she was seven years old. Now she has a good life, a well-paying job, a perfect boyfriend, everything she's always wanted. Then she witnesses a ruthless act of cruelty and reads online that the guilty party got a lenient punishment. Before she knows it, Hope is set on a path that will change her in unimaginable ways. Those who commit cruelty are on a list. One she plans to cross off one by one. For she is Justice.
I found two of the three main characters completely unlikeable, Hope was a self-righteous, sanctimonious sociopath while Jackson was a rich, spoiled, mummy's boy. Grayson was the only character that came across as credible. The whole storyline was completely unbelievable and tbh I actually rolled my eyes in disbelief at the ending. Really struggled with this book, big thumbs down
As a 7 year old Katherine witnesses a ruthless act of cruelty when her father murders her mother and kills her dog.
She is now living a good life with a great job and boyfriend.
However, Hope, as she's now called, hates any form of injustice and cruelty.
I read this book in a day. It seemed strange reading a book when you know who the killer is and why she's doing it.
Be warned, however, before reading this book, that there are some horrific scenes of cruelty to animals.
I will certainly look at more books by this author.
