Comment: A very good book with clean, crisp pages. Text block is very good with minor stains. Front/back inside boards and end papers are very good. There is some very slight glue binding on show under end papers but has no effect on book and binding is solid. Black cloth boards are very good slight wear and creases to corners, spine and edges. DJ is very good with some slight wear and creases to all corners, edges and spine. There is slight creasing at top/bottom of spine and along edges. Inside flaps are very good. Slight surface marks/scratches.

Book Description

The author at the centre of this study, Russian priest-theologian Nikolai Nikolaevich Afanas'ev, was perhaps the most influential thinker about the Church Russia has produced. In Aidan Nichols's careful evaluation, he emerges as a key figure in the rapprochement of Christian East and West, and most notably of the Orthodox and Catholic Churches.
