Theo Knell joined the British Army in 1970 less than a month after his eighteenth birthday. He spent the next twenty-two years in the service of his country; first with a cavalry regiment, before moving on to the Parachute Regiment, and ultimately a life with Special Forces including the SAS.
During his time, Theo saw service all over the world, from Northern Ireland to the Middle East, Central Africa and the Far East. He left the army as a Warrant Officer 'Sergeant Major'. His first book, "A Hell for Heroes", an autobiography, was published by Coronet, an imprint of Hodder and Stoughton at the end of 2012.
The wealth of knowledge and experience he acquired during his time in the military now forms the backbone of the stories he writes. Based around actual events, the settings, locations and descriptions are all accurate. His characters, although none of them are referred to by their real names, are all based on genuine people who have either enriched or coloured his life.
