Beyond the football adventures and anecdotes, some life lessons come through strongly...do what you love, love what you do, work hard, follow your gut feel, treat yourself and others with respect and never, ever give up. Do this and the rewards will come in the shape of the important things in life...friends, family and wonderful memories.
With his Irish roots it’s clear Theo was a bit of a ‘gas’ character himself and the book has plenty of tales and anecdotes (has he kept the left handed golf clubs!) but as well this is a rare gem of a historical account of English football from the 1950s to the 90s and beyond. From the very pinnacle of the English game with Arsenal (Anfield 1989 of course) to his journey through the lower leagues.
With forewords by son and co-author Paul as well as George Graham this book is a must read for all fans and lovers of the beautiful game, young and old.
‘Self praise is no recommendation’ one for many to learn in 2019....
Massively proud of my younger brother’s interpretation on a contrasting sixty year career in professional football.
A well written book.
Honest, humbling, heartwarming and engaging read. And funny too!
For football fans of all clubs.
Makes a change to read about an ex-player, manager & coach(a real football man!) from a different era.
