From the Back Cover
Reckless and wild, beautiful Lily Lawson delights in shocking proper London society--and will break any rule to flaunt her independence. And now she is determined to rescue her helpless sister from an upcoming, undesired marriage to Lord Alex Raiford, the arrogant Earl of Wolverton. Through fair means and foul, the headstrong hellion succeeds outrageously-but her handsome adversary is not to be outdone. A master gamesman, Lord Alex counters Lily's scorn with kindness, and parries her blistering barbs with gentle words and a soft, sensuous touch. For he has resolved to make the spirited miss pay dearly for her interference-with her body, her soul...and her stubborn, unyielding heart.

Oh Lisa where to begin, firstly a huge Lisa Kleypas fan, I have all her novels some are more favourite than other but ALL Lisa's books are fantastic!!!
At the start of this book I wondered how the H&H were ever going hit it off since they disliked each other so much? Well it happened in the true sense of all Lisa's books where she takes you on a journey through each character without it being laborious to read she has just the right balance of information needed to tell the story and keep you interested without going off course!
If you like a brooding Hero and a Fiery Heroine and an explosion of Major heat, read this you wont be disappointed!
Then at chapter six I became riveted.
What a woman Lily is!
I recently read Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase and was gobsmacked when the heroine there used a pistol in a powerful scene. I was equally shocked here in a scene involving a bottle and more. Wow! What daring women! These novels, Lord of Scoundrels and Then Came You, are both a bit over 20 years old. In the 1990s authors really went out on a limb when writing their historical heroines. All I can say is that current historical writers I’ve read don’t do that any more. Pity.
Once riveted, I could not stop reading. I grew to love Lily and Alex. The romantic and sexual tension was electric while the story built up to a love scene. The pacing was perfect. The love scenes were sensual and beautiful.
The love story was thrilling.
This was my first Lisa Kleypas novel. Other reviewers say this is not her best work, the sequel being better. If that is the case, then I am onto a good thing. I’m reading her again, that’s for sure.
