A very comprehensive book which covers virtually all models. Nicely sectioned with history, lifestyles, engines and frame types.
I can't find a model missing - although I must confess any 'H-D' under 750cc doesn't count.
Excellent photography - a pleasure to read more than once - good reference when buying older models.
a true 5 star H-D book (and I've bought a lot of them)

Very well assembled book, loads of pictures and easy to read and understand text that isnt too technical, although there is a lot of technical info.

Every HD is covered with photos to compliment each different bike, some Black and white but most in big sized bright full color.

"The complete history of the Harley Davidson" or "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Harley Davidson" would also have been good titles for this book.

Once you start flipping through the pages, its hard to put down.

If your a HD lover or just like motorbikes then this is the book for you, very much reccomended.

Overall an excellent book which is well written and profusely illustrated with excellent quality photos. As a guide to the history of the company and model range development it is a superb reference up to a point...... Unfortunately in presenting the current 2010 edition both the author and the publishers are being somewhat disingenuous as this book appears to be little more than a re-print of the 2000 edition and as such the book is now around 10 years out of date. The most glaring example is the lack of any reference to the V-Rod range which was introduced in 2001 and is arguably one of the most significant additions to Harley's offering in the last 30 years. For a book which promotes itself on the back cover as "the ultimate reference book for afficionados of the most revered motorcycle in the world" and "a thorough directory presenting every model ever produced" it is not good enough to preface model descriptions with "1994 (or appropriate year) to Present" when some simple, up to date revisions could have made this book so much better. Overall a good book and a useful reference for older models but just don't go looking for information on you favourite Harley model if it was made any time in the last 10 years ! If you want a similar quality book which offers more up to date information buy Peter Henshaws "The Encyclopedia of the Harley Davidson".

I am a Harley fan and owner of a sportster.

I bought 2 Harley books this one and the illustrated HD book - both totally different and good.

This covers more of the story behind the mark - if you are a fan buy this one.
