Product description

Sleep naturally with an adjustable Deluxe Wool Pillow Our unique wool pillow makes an excellent healthy addition to the wool sleep system. Offering all the moisture control properties of wool, this pillow contributes to giving 25% more Stage 4 regenerative sleep. This pillow is truely adjustable - you can adapt the filling to make it into the perfect pillow for you! When your pillow arrives - un-zip the tabless-zip by sliding it open using your thumb and index finger. Inside you'll find a filling of natural wool clusters, which we call 'wool balls'. If you like a softer pillow - dig your hands in and pull the clusters apart adding air and plumping up your pillow. If you like a flatter pillow - remove a suitable quantity of wool to make the pillow just the right height for you. If you like a deeper firmer pillow - buy extra wool to stuff your pillow really full! The longer you leave your pillow the firmer it will start to feel, so for a softer fluffier pillow, feel free to regularly shake it up and pull apart the wool inside. Perfect! The 300g wool filled quilted cover provides extra comfort whilst ensuring you remain warm in winter and cool in summer. Made from British Wool, a natural, renewable and biodegradable resource.

I've revised my original review (which remains below). The company kindly sent me a replacement pillow and I've been using this for several weeks now. It is plumper and softer than the first one and, so far, is proving a very good pillow indeed - supportive but soft and comfortable. It does need a good re-plumping each morning but this seems to revive it fully and return it to near original condition. For anyone with a bad neck I can highly recommend this as it is stays softly supportive throughout the night unlike the majority of pillows I have tried over the years. Compared now with the Bavette pillow it is its superior as the latter has begun to sag and needs more filling - which cannot be added unlike "The Wool Room" pillows which have a zipper to replenish the wool if it loses its bounce.

My original review:

I have to agree a little with the other poster. We bought ours last year along with a lightweight quilt from the lovely Wool Room shop in Stamford. The quilt is absolutely 100% wonderful but the pillow is not. The wool in it clumps like there's no tomorrow and goes hard under your head during the night. We also have a "Bavette" wool pillow - it uses little balls of wool and whatever these are, they work extremely well as there is far less clumping and a perfectly soft, supporting pillow results throughout the night. The Bavette is now well over a year old and going strong; the Wool Room pillow remains unused.

This pillow has been a disaster! I've tried it every which way - full, half empty, plumped up before use etc. - but I find it just compacts into a solid slab during the night; possibly the most uncomfortable pillow I've ever had. Certainly not a good night's sleep and I woke up with a stiff neck each morning. Gave it up after five day's trial. Wish I hadn't bought it - especially as it's so expensive!
My fault for falling for the hype!
Follow up - in all fairness! Just after I posted this review the Wool Room got back to me and have offered me a full refund...so no complaints about the service! Also, to emphasise - there was no fault in the product - just in my reaction to it.
