This is an excellent story. It's a delight to watch Hamish MacDonald's style, which has been magical and personal since his first novel, grow and mature with each book he pens. The Willies, like his other books, manages to convey MacDonald's thought-out, cautionary, and occasionally radical views on human progress and civilization in a perfectly enjoyable, cozy little story. It's worth noting that the author actually binds each of his physical books by hand at home, totally free of any big publishing house. Sure, this is an ebook, but there's still something so personal and non-corporate and just plain GOOD about a story so clearly written from the heart and for its own sake. This book is so worth the price.
