Whether you love the film or you are interested in film making this is a both an enjoyable and insightful book. It includes an introduction by both Stephen King and Frank Darabont, the complete screenplay, over 35 behind the scenes photographs, cast & crew credits and selected storyboards. However by far the most fascinating section of the book is Frank Darabont's analysis of the script to screen changes, he not only explains how scenes changed but also why they changed. Don't let the fact that this book is published in black and white put you off, the content easily makes up for the lack of colour.
Wonderful book. I just wanted the script but it comes with very interesting comments by Frank Darabont of the process of shooting the film. Once at it, you kind of miss more detail in some aspects and less anecdote, but no complaints! Reading it was a wonderful experience. I'm very happy of my purchase. One of the simplest, best screenplays ever written, and one of the best movies ever made.
