Top Customer Reviews

I purchased this DVD with high expectations of gripping exposés & exciting revelations of the KGB's nefarious deeds over half a century until its disbandment in 1990. The DVD also boasted a well known presenter in the form of Roger Moore. Instead what one gets is a wooden inarticulate presentation by the ex James Bond mumbling through his lines. By what was the cherry on the top was the fact that 3 of the 5 disks revolved around either UFOs or the paranormal neither of which I have the slightest interest in.

The first disk commences with great potential when the producers attempt to "procure" KGB files. It then proceeds to show a whole series of entrapments by the KGB using the simplest of ruses - sex. The inevitable result was extortion & ultimately the betrayal of Western secrets. The scale of this practice was unbelievably vast with the KGB having 1300 agents alone in the USA. The victims all appear to be either diplomats or politicians. The most revealing was the attempt to seduce a Catholic priest! By their very nature, the quality of the footage is grainy & the sound quality poor. Admittedly even if the sound quality had been clearer it would have been of little use considering that the language spoken was invariably not English.

The following 3 disks comprise revelations about UFOs & the paranormal.

The final disk revolves around the assassination of JFK. The overwhelming majority of this episode of 88 minutes involves a team in the USA revisiting the actual locale & re-enacting the fatal shooting. They attempt to clarify or rebut all contentious claims such as assertion that there were multiple hitmen, the shots were actually fired from an adjacent grassy knoll et cetera.

I had seen some clips about this on youtube. and decided to order it since it was so cheap.
I certainly did not expect much from this, and you shouldn't either.
The video source obviously is from a VHS tape, you can see it clearly.
Stripes at the bottom of the screen, and other typical VHS tape "flaws"
Probably most "interesting" episode is on Disc 2: UFO Files
(for a u.f.o. geek like myself. ;))
Nothing special really,if you got +7h time to waste and can get it cheap, get it.

This miss informative fairy tale DVD set can be hardly called documentary. This DVD belongs to the category of sensational boulevard media, full of dull, unintelligent conspiracy theories. Poor Roger Moore, even as James Bond he looked much more veritable. The only intelligent input into the DVD set was the attractive misleading name of the product, which helps to sell this kind of junk.
