I found this a fascinating and compelling read. In their search for the origins of freemasonry the authors have cast their net wide, drawing on the latest genetic research, recent archaeological discoveries and - uniquely - an unequalled knowledge of things Masonic, to assemble an intriguing hypothesis linking such seemingly diverse elements as the tomb builders of Pharaonic Egypt, King Solomon, the Arab conquests in Europe, the crypto-Jews of Spain and, wholly unexpectedly, the bloodline of Christ.
Freemasonry's emphasis on the Temple of Solomon makes its Jewish foundations obvious. But the astonishing degree of cohesion between Masonic and Judaic ritual revealed by the authors is nothing short of astonishing. The family group that so skilfully and secretly organised an ostensibly non-denominational freemasonry are revealed as jealously protecting their genetic purity for more than three millennia - an exclusive bloodline to which Jesus himself belonged.
As high-ranking masons, the author's controversial conclusions - which may well be deemed heretical by the more orthodox - must nevertheless be taken seriously. If you are looking for an authoritative, well-researched antidote to the confused ramblings of The Da Vinci Code, this is the book for you!
A very well written and thought provoking book. I couldn't put it down until I had read it all. The authors are to be congratulated on their well written research. I would recommend this title to persons who enjoy such investigative literature.
