Benjamin Hoff wanted to create his own version of the Hardy Boys book "The House on the Cliff", fleshing out the characters and adding touches of his own. I wasn't sure if I would like this very much when I bought the book, but I would heartily recommend it to readers young and old. The author obviously has a great deal of love and respect for the original Hardy Boys series and his writing is an absolute joy. His preface to the book "The Man Who Wasn't There" and his essay "The Art of Seeing" are insightful and as well written as the book itself. Five stars +.
