Anti flags quality of songs have somewhat fluctuated in recent times, but this is one hell of an album. A huge impact from the go.
- Controlled opposition - short, fast, hard, a really promising opening
- the neoliberal anthem - best song on the album, cracking riffs throughout, and drumming. Typical anti government song by the band.
- 1915 - not one of the better songs - quite bland
- this is the new sound - blasts into life with a superb bass line, add some 'whoas' rinse and repeat, great stuff.
- BS opportunist - fast, hardcore punk song, they always have one, really gritty, with a more tuneful chorus.
- the ranks of the masses rising - starts off with some good vocals, then add some base, and builds up to another catchy chorus.
- turn a blind eye - a more laid back sound to this one, more of a beach anthem!!
- broken bones - doubled up vocals, and a good couple of solos throughout.
- I don't wanna - pick scrape intro, then into heavy base and drum, quite repetitive, but overall good.
- nothing recedes like progress - a subdued verse followed by quite an impactive stop and start chorus.
- resist - a pretty little chord to start, before it smacks you in the face with uber fast riff and screwy vocals, old school anti flag, then after 20 seconds, changes to another song, which has a cracking riff and little solo behind, then back to hardcore for final 10 seconds!
- the ghosts of Alexandria - a softer more mainstream sound, not overly keen on this one.

Overall, a very good album, somewhat grittier than some of their more recent attempts, and a great addition.
