My expectations were quite high due to good ratings I had seen before ordering. The fact is that I've found a couple of good insight into the economy and logic or political decisions of some HSR installations in the world, in the book. On the other hand, what I really miss are more tables and statistics.
But what is a big disappointment are the maps of national HSR tracks - probably the quality of print made them absolutely useless. The lines which should show the tracks are practically invisible apart from the fact that some of the maps are rather small to see there anything useful.
So, if you need facts and data you'd better go to the web of UIC - there are lots of them available for free.
