it gives a brief overview of some good ideas for disaster survival which make for a good starting point if you worry about being trapped in a disaster.

I've just finished Chapter 6.
This is one of the best written survival books, it makes you think about your situation and knowledge instead of spoon feeding you an approved list of equipment.
The author comes across as man serious about looking after his family and friends, like you would hope and has thought seriously about what is needed to do this.
Don't fall in to the 'room full of food' trap - read this book and realise just how much information you have missed.

Author trains in disciplines he thinks he will need for the End of the World. topics include weightlifting to be strong, shooting, medical care (which scared me the most), car theft/ stunt driving, survival living, and others. Occasional insight and swearing. He is concerned about aliens, zombies, and mutant bikers.

Read a couple of his books, nice quality. author is very down to earth and explains things very well / tackles problems and issues with a good common sense approach
