Wow! There are some really unfair reviews of this show on here! I'll keep this short, because I could rant forever. When Family Guy came out, I was not an instant fan because I loved The Simpsons and figured it was just a rip-off. However, since I have matured and grown up a bit, I can now fully understand that Family Guy and The Simpsons are completely different shows... just like Family Guy and The Cleveland Show. They are completely differently paced and Cleveland playes more like a sitcom, rather than FG's random clipshow. I love all of the above mentioned shows, just in different ways. They should not be compared and accepted as different entities. I find The Cleveland Show sharp, funny, relevant and full of character and originality. Are there as many laughs per episode as, say, and episode of FG? No, probably not. But as I said - they can't be compared like that. (There is more music in High School Musical than in Grease, but does that make it a better musical? Hmm.) So all you negative people on here wanting to crucify something beforfe it's barely taken off, I do understand your plight - like I said, when I was young and foolish I made the same comparisons about other shows myself. To all you people out there seeking something a little bit different and original, you could do far worse than give Cleveland a whirl. Great stuff.

I know there are a lot of people who say this isnt as good as Family Guy or American Dad and I agree, it isnt. I would give every series of both of those comedies 5 stars every time. But just because it is not as good as those shows does not mean it is instantly rubbish. It is almost a sitcom style episode and as such does not have as many cutaway gags like family guy, but why should it, its not family guy and was designed as a show to stand apart. And that is what it does, the characters are likeable and I applaud seth Marcfarlane for making this character different as he gets angry and both protective of his family because at the end of the day, he wants to get on with his new family. And is a great thing to do given his 2D character in Family Guy, he has literally made the show his own.

This is a good solid comedy who everybody should enjoy, it can have some abusive language but it is expected to as this is from the same minds who thought up Family Guy but in this they make it funny rather than offensive. I would reccomend this product to anyone and tell others who sometimes get a product based on the strength of different reviews is to ignore those who have given one star as they are all people criticize it for essentially not being Family Guy or American Dad. Buy this on its own merit and you will not be disappointed.

I have now watched every episode of the series. As a fan of Family Guy and American Dad I really wanted to like this.............but I didn't.
The problem is Cleveland just isn't a strong enough character to have his own show, and the new characters are simply just dull.
In fact the shows highlight moments are when a Family Guy character would show up for an all too brief cameo.
The Bears feel like they have just been put there for the sake of having some talking animals, and the other characters are barely memorable enough to write about. Hmmmm a fat dimwitted son and a talking bad attitude infant now why does that sound familiar?
The storylines don't have much going for them either. Each episode has one or two cutaway gags that sorely lack that Family Guy edge.
In summary, this is a disaster, I for one hope it gets cancelled and Cleveland is returned to where he belongs. After all he is a good character, but a good supporting character at that.

When I bought this item I was expecting it to be not as funny as family guy but it lived up to its expectations, if you love family guy and American dad this is the DVD for you, the joke style is more like American dad then family guy though, because it is not really joke after joke, but when this show makes a joke you will know. One of the best DVDs I have ever watched, 5 out of 5 from me.Is a Must have

Yes, we know it's not meant to be "Family Guy" or "American Dad!" either. But speaking as someone who regularly enjoys both those shows, to see this was a great disappointment. It's as boring as hell.

Cleveland is a funny character but as has been pointed out, he's a funny *supporting* character. I love the character of Quagmire from Family Guy, but there's no way he's interesting enough- despite being deeper than Cleveland- to get his own show. Why did they push it with Cleveland?

I've tried to watch The Cleveland Show several times, but I seriously cannot make it past 5 minutes per episode. It's just so horribly dull and unengaging.

I have seen most of this series and it keeps getting better. A slow start to the few episodes, but then again Simpsons, family guy and american dad all had slow starts.

I rate it personally a 4 but I have given it a 5 to try and make up for the idiot who gave it a 2 rating, even though at the time of his post, most episodes havn't been shown in America, let alone in UK.

Not trying to be hypocritical in writing this but you shouldn't review items before they are even released. I am only doing this review to make up some of the damage the other idiot may have caused
