I bought this hoping to get a reference book of cheese that I would see in the UK and Europe. Although this does cover the big European cheeses it is written by a Californian and therefore aimed at the USA. It is still a good book and very interesting and well laid out. It is missing a few of the smaller British cheeses that I was hoping to see. Buy it if you are USA based. If you are UK based consider getting an alternative first.
I was exremely disappointed by this book. It may be comprehensive, but there are no pictures of the cheeses in the book. So, you wouldn't recognise any of the cheeses if you saw them, unless you already knew them. Which defeats the object!!
