The Chase is a short story that literally took me no time to read. This is mainly because it was that gripping that it had me racing through the pages to see how it was going to finish.

Alex is on her way home from a sales meeting but has to take a detour due to an accident, from this point on her evening goes down hill very quickly.

It's hard to say to much about the story line itself with it only being a short read and I don't want to give anything away. All I will say is that the author manages to grip the reader from beginning to end with a fast paced plot that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Brilliant read and highly recommended. Also a great introduction to a new author if like me you haven't read any of his other books, which after this I certainly will be reading more.

With an ailing sat-nav Alexa (Alex) is not sure of exactly where she was when she was pulled over by a traffic cop for speeding on her way home at night.

Having cleverly averted his lecherous intentions in exchange for overlooking her offence, she drives off. But returns again to ask for directions.

That’s when she sees the masked figure and sees the gun flashes.
She puts her foot down to flee, but the attacker has seen her and gives chase with bullets flying.

It hadn’t been a good night for her, but it was getting a whole lot worse – especially when she seeks refuge in the ‘lion’s den’!

A Short story, a great in between books read.
Well written and enjoyable.

What happens when you witness a horrific crime? Do you stay and help? Or do you flee? And what do you do when the perpetrator sets their sights on you…?

Hold onto your seats in this terrifying, thrill-ride. Previously published as ‘Him!’, and now included alongside a sneak peek of Paul’s new novel, ‘The Killing Club’, for the first time.

Get ready for 'The Chase'. Once you start reading this book by Paul Finch, you won't be able to stop until you finish it, and this is not just because it is a short story, but because the events in it just move along at breakneck speed. All the story takes place during one night.

Alexa Goddard, gets lost while driving back home through unfamiliar rural roads, at night. At one point, she is stopped by a police car. The police officer reprimands her for overspeeding but is ready to forgive her and not give her a ticket on one condition. Alexa's decision, whether to go along with the officer's condition or not will start a chain of events that will see her fight for her life and leave the reader literally breathless.

I had a great time reading 'The Chase' and will surely read more novels written by Paul Finch.

This an excellent short story and a perfect introduction to Paul Finches writing.

Alexa is on her way home from a conference when she is stopped for speeding by a traffic cop on a dark country road. He offers her a "deal" to get out of a fine but she refuses and drives off. A short time later she witnesses a murder and spends the rest of the story on the run from a killer trying to cover their tracks.

Fast paced from the outset this will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. I can also highly recommend Paul Finches first novel Stalkers.
