The one drawback to this novel is the way every single person speaks with the same style and vocabulary - Bruce's. Other than that, as usual there's enough ideas, cool moments and simply-written complex events to make any author jealous.
Well done, and well worth buying.

stitching together a series of stories and trying to tie them all together with the caryatid characters was a stretch.
at best, the short interludes were interesting and fun to read. At worst, the majority of the book seems like an exercize in philosophical techno-green dreaming.
all the characters were loathsome. None were deeply developed and all seemed very superficial. I had thought that perhaps that was the perpose (given certain circumstances in the book), but alas, to me, it was not.
I got this because I'm a big post-apocalypical fan and while I enjoy a good romp in a world gone wrong, this one seemed as if everyone was aware that the world had gone wrong were trying hard to do something to fix it, but no one ever left the starting blocks and perfered to annoy one another over who was the most special. Which given the subject matter, made absolutely no sense what so ever.
Why did I give it two stars? 1 for it being a post-apocalypic book and the second for some mild interesting imagery at the end.
pass on this book.
