This album showcases the best of Timmons' Ear X-tacy 1&2 albums. Although his influences are very apparent ('I Remember Stevie'-SRV, and 'Electric Gypsy'-Hendrix)its still Timmons who is producing the material and if you forget about this fact, the songs are even more enjoyable. In my opinion Andy Timmons has an added quality that the likes of the so-called 'guitar gods'-Satriani and Vai- don't, and thats the ability to stuff so much emotion into a song, it just makes you sit back and admire.
There are so many different styles packed onto this album, from blues to shredding(see 'Groove Or Die') to the one and only vocal pop/rock song on the album -'Slip Away', which is a good showcase of his vocal talents. Its a shame his other stuff is so difficult to get hold of as he deserves a much bigger audience. The composition of the songs are also first rate as is the quality of the guitar playing and its nice to find a guitarist with so much flair and control. Superb.

absolutely unbeatable! i have been interested in many guitarists on steve vais 'favoured nations' label for a while now (greg koch and marti freidman beig the outstanding pair), but this guy blows them all away. He is the perfect rock guitarist. Sometimes when i listen 2 vai i can hear about 100,000,000,000,000 notes that could have been left out, the guy is a genius, but very scary! satriani has a brilliant melodic sense but sometimes can leave me wanting more....more...MORE! andy timmons is right there. The track 'groove or die' is a neo-classical-shred-machines dream, and yet andy keeps a strong melody and soulfulness flowing! tap your feet to pink champagne sparkle, mellow out to 'night to remember' and let those proverbial hairs on the back of your neck stand to attention for 'cryin' for you'. The perfect rock guitar album

To quote the words from a famous Dire Staights song, but this is not Dire Staights, enter Andy Timmons, if you like Vai, Satriani, Johnson, you will like Andy Timmons he has drawn influences from these great players and combined them with his own virtuoso style of playing.
The recording quality of this work is good and it is not overproduced there is a welcome bluesy rawness about some of the tracks, a certain Hendrix vibe especially on track 9 Electric Gypsy, from the minute you click play and Track 1 Super 70's bursts through your speakers you would be forgiven to say "where has this guy come from" it drives hard then breaks into very bluesy middle 8 building upto a guitar crescendo.
This album is very good value for money, 16 tracks, Track 8. Farmer Sez got a very tongue in cheek country feel but the picking technique is first class. Track 6. I remember Stevie, this is a tribute to SRV and again played well .
In all If I had to criticise this work it would be that the infuences of the greats are very obvious, and it is because of this I did not give it 5 stars, but in his defence its what a lot people who are into rock guitar want to hear, and having said that, there are still tracks where Andys originality is plentyful, overall a good balance of styles and originality, for me being totally into guitar this is a welcome addition to my collection and please lets have some more work from Andy soon and more recognition in the UK hopefully.

If you enjoy very good guitar playing then go no further than this album from Andy Timmons, this album is a showcase of some of my favourite tracks that Andy has recorded. I came across the track " A Night To Remember " a few years ago and the rest is history, I have listened to him ever since as he is an excellent player with a slightly different approach of his own interpretation to phrasing, tone and guitar music composition.

The standout tracks on this album are " A Night To Remember " ... " Cry For You " ... " Electric Gypsy " and Pink Champagne Sparkle to name but a few, this in my book is a very good listenable album. Andy Timmons tone and phrasing is what makes him stand out from the rest, a highly recommended album.

As a fan of Andy Timmons since his Danger Danger days I was looking forward to this release. I was not disappointed. A best of compilation (plus 5 new tracks) this demonstartes his mastery of the guitar. Technique, feel and top class songwriting all wrapped up in a package not to be missed. Tracks such as Cry For You, I remember Stevie, (the Satrianiesque)Beautiful Strange, Night to Remember and Electric Gypsy show you just how talented the guy is as well as being a really melodic soulful player. And he can shred with the best of em too(Groove Or Die).

Highly recommended for guitar fans.

As a Last.Fm user, one of the tracks from this album kept coming at me again and again. So I bit the bullet and bought the album. Glad I did. Highly accomplished playing that (for me) seems to straddle Vai and Satch in parts, and let's be honest, that's not a bad thing is it? Yes. Me like.
