This CD is a Ray Charles tribute. About half the CD is new material and the rest is carefully selected re-releases, but all of it songs associated with Ray Charles. I've owned it for many months, having acquired one of the initial release copies directly from the group's own website. I've bought virtually everything the group has issued and, compared to some of their recordings, this one actually took a while to grab me, but it is is well worth persisting with. It is exceptionally good value at £7.99 - I paid £15! Highspots for me are the slower songs, all with classy vocal performances - 'Busted', 'Hard Times' and 'Georgia on My Mind'. The best upbeat number is 'Let the Good Times Roll', complete with additional keyboards from Jools Holland.

A Good and heart felt tribute from his Pauliness and The Blues Band , Some of the material taken from previous outings but nice to have them on one Disc. A lot of enjoyable takes on the RC song book and a lovely final track thanking Brother Ray for the inspiration to make Blues music from the Band. Would recommend if you are A Blues Band fan , and if you enjoy The Soul side of Blues.

This 15 track CD pays tribute to music legend Ray Charles. The blues band have recorded several Charles songs over the years, and have re-issued these along with several new recordings and a final track written by the band as a tribute to the great man.

Full of the band's inimitable style, charm and good natured feeling, this is a record full of joy at the music Charles brought to the world, and tinged with sadness at his passing. It is a fitting tribute, not at all mawkish, that really allows you to appreciate both the talents of Ray Charles, and those of the band.

An excellent release. At the time of writing it is now 7 years since the release and there have been no further albums from this great band. Let's hope that there is more to come? If not then this is a fine effort with which to end their distinguished recording career.
