Not only will student veterinary nurses find it excellent value in content and price, I expect that both qualified veterinary nurses and vets will view it as an invaluable addition to the practice library. (Veterinary Record, 16 June 2012)"This is the book that every nurse should have, be they a student nurse, a qualified nurse, an older qualified nurse and even some vets to bring them bang up to date with all the latest techniques and good standards of nursing care." (Veterinary Practice, 1 February 2012)

Now the book has majority of the stuff directly copied from the 4th edition but you can't blame them for this and the exotics and equine on top. I must admit though there appears to be a greater range of images in this edition compared to the 4th edition which does come in helpful when studying. The content does follow the level 3 diploma in veterinary nursing however it is still a 'basic' textbook and further reading is defiantly needed to get a broader understanding of the subject in my opinion, which will be needed for your exams, probably more so in diagnostic imaging and A&P side of things.
Overall a helpful book and the way the book explains and describes different subjects is a lot easier to understand now compared to the 4th edition. I could not for the life of me understand genetics from the 4th edition even the vet I work with said it was awfully explained. But the majority of things are sorted.
I would defiantly advise and is a must have for any veterinary nursing student, the exams were equine orientated "hint hint".
