It is no secret that I love author K Websters books - the woman is a genius and writes all genre's from dark and delicious to funny and delightful, which is how this book goes down. I'm sorry to say I haven't read J D Hollyfield but I will hopefully be rectifying that in the near future.
Dani has been dumped by her cheating boyfriend and finds herself out with her best friend Andie drowning her sorrows when she decides to text her ex boyfriend while she is fueled and feeling brave with drink, she sends him a string of texts which are hilarious and rude. When she gets some replies back she then realises she has texted the wrong number and a stranger is answering her. Intrigued with each other they both keep this up for a while but inevitably they will have to meet one day and that is when this story really starts to buzz.
Dani is a kind hearted girl and a pushover - everyone takes advantage of her and she lets them, she needs to find her backbone and start using it and soon - and who best to help her but the ever loyal best friend Andie. Now this girl is the total opposite of Dani, she is feisty and has a mouth that fails to engage before her brain clicks into gear but she was such a delight to read and had some wonderful colourful advise for Andie on more than a few occasions, she was an absolute pleasure to get to know and I loved her,
Ram is the boy who is the wrong number, he is a cheeky delightful character who has enough confidence for them both, and I was instantly drawn to him - the attraction is obvious and you will have to read this book to find out just what happens when him and Dani eventually meet up - you won't be disappointed !!!
Roman is Ram's brother and as a secondary character he is an added bonus and the fireworks that explode between him and Andie ( may I add not always in a good way ) make for very entertaining reading.
What I really enjoyed about this book was Dani's development in this story, I won't go onto too much detail but it was a joy to read and warmed my heart.
This book is a ray of sunshine on a dark dismal day, wonderfully written, brilliantly funny, I have nothing but praise for this book that must be read.
Excellent stuff !!!!!!!
Dani and Ram are bloody hilarious in parts!
And Andie! Gah that girl is after my own heart! She's sarky, she's loud, she's basically the complete opposite to Dani!
We start off with Dani in a bar with Andie after she gets dumped by her ex douchebag, when we first meet Dani i instantly loved her but damn she needed a back bone and she needed it fast.
So with a bit of liquid courage she decides to text the ex douchebag a stream of insults to which he replies back. Just not how she expected him too. When realisation dawns on her and she looks at the number again she feels instant remorse.
It was damn funny reading the insults she was slaying him with and the replies back from Ram was on point!
Ram, i loved him.
No word of a lie.
I felt for the guy i really did, having a tough time trying to get his feet back on the ground after FBC screwed over his job and life royally. When he gets texts from a complete stranger texting him a slew of insults that could make a sailor blush, Dani makes him smile after months and he decides he going to carry on texting her.
The whole book was funny, saddening, up, down and all around the bloody roundabout but it was damn good.
K Webster has always been a safe option for me, i know ever book i read of hers is going to amaze me and make me love her writing even more.
Now J.D. Hollyfield i hate to say I've never heard of or her books but damn that's getting rectified quickly!
The writing was beautiful and it was the little tells of who wrote who but they still was equally amazing!
I can't wait from more from you both!
This book *sigh*
It was just perfection for me. I loved Dani so much right from the 1st page. She is just so adorable and sweet, nice, cute, lovable....sooooo lovely. Probably one of my favorite heroines to date.
Ram *sigh* *swoon* *melt*
This guy. Be still my beating heart. Hollyfield/Webster nailed it with Ram. There are a couple of chapters from Rams POV that I cried at. I felt his pain as if it was my own an my heart literally ached along with his. I laughed, cried, swooned, sighed, got angry, you name the emotion, this book had me feeling it.
Text 2 lovers has 2 of the best side characters I have ever read in Andie and Roman. They made this book even more amazing, and I cannot wait for their book! I'm going author stalking as soon as I've finished this review to see how I can get my hands on it asap! Along with anything else J D Hollyfield and K Webster have written!
Highly recommended book. A must read for anyone who loves a sweet romance with a dose of angst and humour.
It started with texting a wrong number, Dani decided to grow a backbone and stick up for herself, but what happens when the wrong number replies and the banter back and forth leads to more? Thinking Ram was her douche of an ex Dani is obviously weary, but Ram more than proves he's a better man. The more they text the more they want to meet and when they do, the sparks fly.
They soon start a relationship and with that comes more fun, but also serious dramas too, so can they make their real relationship last.
I like how it wasn't too serious, but had the drama too and the secondary characters ensured more laughs and I cant wait for the next book from these two authors.
I do, have to say that it came alive more for me when Andie and Roman the side characters showed up and I will be all over their book.
