Texas Chainsaw, the US #1 box office hit, picks up directly where the terrifying 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre ended, with the repercussions of Leatherface’s shocking slayings.
In the aftermath of Tobe Hooper’s classic, the townspeople take dramatic action against the Sawyer family. They had long suspected the family were responsible for several mysterious disappearances and had their suspicions finally confirmed when a young woman escaped the house. Word of the murders quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought…

It's also kind of ironic that the 3D works best on the scenes from the original film that have been converted! It really made me want to see that film in 3D. The actaul 3D in this new film is really rather poor! Alot of things just look like cut outs in the foreground. It's used for a few effects (blood on the camera, chainsaw flying into the screen) but really doesn't add anything at all. Infact, it kind of takes away from the film because it's so badly done.
Having said that, it's good to see alot of the cast from the original film (and Bill from the second) feature in this one and it's obvious that the cast and film makers really wanted to pay homage to the original. It's just a shame they kind of fail really. Leatherface also doesn't seem right. He's tall enough, but just doesn't seem large enough. He's a bit too lean and so doesn't really have the air of menace that his character should have. Again, it's a shame as watching the making of's, it's obvious that he's having the time of his life in the role. Again, it's a shame he's not as good as he should be.
Worth a watch if you a fan of the series and not as bad has has been made out, but far from a classic like the original film.
She travels there with 3 college mates and picks up a person along the way, because the unwritten code of a Texas Chainsaw movie is the hitchhiker/rider. As it turns out, she is not the only heir left and you come to sympathize with the cannibal with a chainsaw.
The film has its share of severed bodies, blood, and gore. The 3D action is climaxed with a chainsaw tossed at the camera. Remember this is a sequel. Keep the expectations low.
Parental Guide: F-bombs. Implied sex. No nudity. Tania Raymonde bra/panties. Alexandra Daddario open shirt cleavage...and how did she shirt become buttoned shut once it was ripped open?
It does not even come close to being as good as the original or even the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre and 2006 Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning which I liked quite a bit due to the Ronald Lee Ermey character. All in all passable as a slasher movie but does not deserve the Texas Chainsaw branding and to be honest the only thing I will remember from the movie is the small clip of music by John Butler (The Hand Of The Almighty).
This one is again just boring, The original chainsaw was a cult classic with some real gritty moments, the sequels to follow (especially number 2) were tripe.
This one just shouldn't have been made, it has clearly just been made for the money with no thought of turning it into a decent prequel.
I don't even need to explain the storyline as you have guessed by now, it is ultimately just the same as the previous movies.

This film is actually pretty good, and definitely the best of the trio of modern Texas Chainsaw movies. Read morePublished 13 months ago by JR Peterson
