But I finally did and why I held out so long I don't know
Because I was seriously missing out on a great read,
I actully found this book totally refreshing, it gives a different
View on the bdsm lifestyle..and I've read many in the genre,
I will also say I'm impressed as an avid reader it takes a lot for
a book to catch my eye. It captured me from the first chapter
I really couldn't put it down till it was finished
in my eyes it's a MUST read you won't regret it..
I will be following this authors work.
This is no lightweight spank on the bum bum story. This is the story of Abby who has agreed to be the whipping bitch for the Network and Lewis is the one who decides who she services. Some of the whipping scenes are extreme; there are bruises, marks, bites, burns, sucking stranger’s man parts…. but it’s all consensual. I will say I could picture every scene in my head and I can also say it’s not the highest end of the BDSM scale, but it is more than the usual level they feature in books.
At times I felt a bit sorry for Abby as she was at the stage of wanting “more” yet Lewis just kept playing with her mind. He certainly tested her and she passed with flying colours.
It was an interesting way to write the book and get all the descriptive scenes in, by presenting it as a debrief.
One thing I might go and check on is the sex of the author. This was definitely written more for a man so I'm guessing it was written by a man. I find men can write pure arrogance better than women, women tend to couple arrogance with charm which makes a woman's alpha male so much more likeable than a bloke's alpha male.
I actually had to have a bit of a smirk at the end of the book with the choice Abby made. Lewis portrayed himself as the ultimate Master and yet, the choice Abby made kind of insinuates he wasn’t enough for her, and that did make me laugh and good for her!!
Along comes Abby looking for pain and pleasure and her master-lewis to sub her out to be his whipping bitch to whoever pays , as he sends her to her first interview which she passes with flying colours makes her so pleased to do whatever and with whoever Lewis sees fit for her to serve, at first it's just business but the more into it she gets the more she wishes it was Lewis doing the whipping and FUCKING. The more interviews she did the more deeper she was falling for Lewis and her submissive behaviour didn't go unnoticed with each interview she did and the descriptions of what happened in every scene she gave him saw her submitting more and more under his control this he enjoyed putting her to the test to see how obedient she could be for him and she was in heaven when he took her on a trip to Paris that's when she fell deeper in love with him, there's nothing she wouldn't do for him but would he fall in love with Abby or keep it strictly business ? This is one author I will be following very closely and the fact that's he's a Dom too makes the story work so well as knew exactly how to put that edge to this book and I can't wait for the next book from Al Daltrey well done Sir.
Take heed of the author’s warning as this is definitely not one for the faint of heart! Very rarely has a book left me speechless, but Testing the Submissive certainly did.
This was one seriously intense, and at times for me, uncomfortable book. Having said that, I was engrossed!
I couldn’t put the book down from start to finish.
The story revolves around Abby and Lewis, the man who she calls master. Abby, a masochist and a submissive, is part of network of submissives who are shared between clients/other sadists in the network.
Testing the Submissive was a smoking hot and extreme read. Think of any kind of sexual situation and it was probably in this book!
Despite enjoying the book, personally I felt there was a warmth lacking in the relationship between Abby and Lewis, and I didn’t really feel their connection, and I especially didn’t like how cold Lewis acted towards Abby (even if there was a reason for his actions) but moreover I didn’t like Abby’s acceptance of his behaviour.
I found myself questioning the line between submissiveness or if the heroine was just being a doormat, and I found that I couldn’t answer my own question.
Having said all that, I found the book to be well written, very entertaining and thought provoking. I would definitely read more from this author!

On reading the blurb, this seemed really good. However, the narrative just didn't flow enough for me.Published 16 months ago by SpottyMcGlotty
