If you (like I) have missed the old Discworld covers by the late Josh Kirby then this calendar will fill you with joy.

Some of the most famous covers are included along with 4 "new" pieces of Discworld art. These images have been seen before if you are a Kirby fan, but it is only when you have them in front of you, in beautiful colour, that you realise the work and detail that went into each of them and you feel the loss of Mr Kirby again.

Covers are: Fifth Elephant; Thief of Time; Witches Abroad; Pyramids; The Truth; Carpe Jugulum; Equal Rites and Hogfather. Also included is the first version of Moving Pictures cover, along with Discworld Noir; Unseen University and Ankh Morpork.

The "Witches" seem to be the predominate group in the calendar, even though they have only 3 of the pictures (Witches Abroad, Carpe Jugulum, and Equal Rites), no other group (the "Watch", Rincewind, the UU boys or Death) has more (or an equal number of) images.

I have great hopes that they will continue with this theme over the next couple of years and a specific group will have the majority images supported by some of the less well known work of Mr Kirby.

The calendar has day squares (if you really want to write on it) and gives you those special day reminders, including the usual prompt for wearing the lilac on the "glorious 25th".

Once again the Discworld calendar is a pleasure to have in my collection. It's just superb.

I must say, that the pictures on the website are good, but in real life they are brilliant! I can't wait to start using the calendar!

I usually buy the Discworld calendar (or rather my grandmother buys it for me). However, I was disappointed by the decision to use only Josh Kirby's work. I never liked his covers. Pratchett goes to great lengths to subvert fantasy stereotypes but the covers look like the artist has missed this or never actually read the book. So the young, skinny Rincewind is old and fat, Granny Weatherwax is a stereotypical witch even though we are told that, much to her dismay, she is neither craggy nor warty. I also dislike the way Angua is always drawn with bikini armour (she wears a speacially hammered-out breastplate). As a female reader I find that kind of blantant fan service very off-putting.

I always found the Kirby covers very childish and they initially put me off buying my first Discworld book. So I'll have to ask Grandma for something different this year.

The title says it all. The 2010 calendar was lacking, but this was all Josh Kirby's illustrations, and to me that's what the Discworld characters looked like (especially when in one book TP does affectionately mock the artists style). Paul Kidby is a great artist but he never seems to catch the pure humour that Josh put in the original book artwork.

This was bought as a present. It was received with great satisfaction. They thought it was brillient, they have all Terry Pratchett books so I knew this would be the perfect present. From ordering, a week before Christmas, it was here well before then. Very pleased with fast service

J have unfortunately been a long time pTerry fan - the calendars are always great - this is no exception - if you are or know of someone like minded - this is an essential piece of kit. If you aren't a fan then buy the calendar and read up on the drawings by buying the books.... which are incidentally... quite good

My (grown-up) son has been an avid Terry Pratchett fan since day one of discovering that Terry Pratchett existed! He is an avid collector and since receiving this, as a gift, has become a father himself. I am sure that my little grandson will be as enthralled and entertained by Terry Pratchett when he is old enough, as my son has bee.

I am so excited to have this on my wall.
I have been waiting 2 years for it to come down in price enough to afford it. Now that it is £2 off, I can get this and send it to Gretta.
She is a big fan of Dragons and things so she will love it.
She will be able to look back on 2012 and re live it day by day with this handy reminder of a vintage year in the Snow Lands of the north.
