In book 2 we get Paul's story we got a sneak peek into Paul in book 1 he is best friend to Gabe. I really warmed to Paul in Angels and whiskey and I really fell in love with him in this book.
The story starts off with Joselyn as a teenager, and learn how her Mother sold her virginity when she was seventeen. We also get a glimpse into Paul's past after the woman he thought loved him completely crushed and broke his heart.
Back to the present and Joselyn is set to Las Vegas undercover as an escort for the FBI to try take down the mastermind behind a sex trafficking ring. Placed in the house with Paul, the sexual chemistry between them is off the charts, will she be able to trust Paul with her secrets and will Paul be able to handle it once he finds out who she really is.
This book had me gripped from the 1st page, my heart hurt for Joselyn for what she experienced and how a mother could do that to her child, Both Paul and Joselyn have scars that I just wanted them to share with each other. I really loved Paul's patience with Joselyn, how he knew something or someone had hurt her so bad but didn't want to push her to tell him, how he just let her be and hopefully she would trust him eventually to tell him
A truly wonderful read that will have you laughing, hurting, emotional and falling in love and not to mention a hot sexual chemistry that would melt ice and if that wasn't enough an OMG of a twist!!! Kimberly you got me cause I did not see that one coming
i couldn't put this book down from the moment i started.
i loved paul and joss there connection was so strong and so intense it was beautiful.
i loved following paul and joss's journey it was a beautifully told story it felt like i was there
it was also nice to catch up with gabe and autumn to
thank you kimberly for another exciting read.
i would reccomend this book to family and friends
Paul works in an escort service and is asked to put up "Andy" only it then turns out to be "Andi" which was hilariously funny to read. Their chemistry just bounces and sizzles and I love each and every part of it. Paul has this endless energy and when he falls in love, he falls hard and fast. He is enamoured with Andi the moment he meets her. He literally cannot get her out of his head which is actually really swoon worthy.
His job is a job to him but his past and the reason he turned his back on his dreams made me sad and from that point forward, I’ve been rooting for his happily ever after.
Andi is playing a dangerous game with her life as she tries to get the answers she needs to solve the crime. The answers aren't very forthcoming and in the pursuit of those answers she puts herself in harms way. She isn’t thinking of her life, she’s putting others first and it is by doing that, Paul realises how much she means to him.
She needs to solve this case and move on from it. This book didn't end the criminal case but it sets itself up for the next book with a slightly weird ending as it doesn’t actually end the case, it just sets up for Seth’s book which I don’t mind in the slightest because we get more Paul and Andi!
The characters were complex and well developed. Paul is a retired military man, now part of an escort service . Joselyn is an undercover FBI agent, posing as an escort. The two of them share a house owned by the escort company as well as an instant attraction to each other. But both Paul and Joselyn have baggage from the past, and Paul doesn't know Joselyn's real name or occupation. Can they make a relationship work or is it doomed from the start?
This is my second book by Kimberly Knight, and I am hooked! I can't wait for the next book in this series, Seth's story (Joselyn's best friend). I was left with a few questions, and I'm hoping the next book will answer those questions. I highly recommend this series!
I reviewed this book on behalf of A Book Lover's Emporium book blog.
Tequila and Lace is another fabulous read from Kimberly Knight she has this great writing style and characters that you take straight to your heart.
Paul had it all in high school a beautiful girl at his side and a great football career ahead of him and then a quickly as that its all taken away from him in heartbreaking circumstances he's forced to turn his back on everything and start a new life. Joselyn had it hard growing up and her life changed on the night of her seventeenth birthday she found herself on the run with no home and no family. Years later her life has changed dramatically she's now an FBI agent but what happens when she goes undercover and her past come back to haunt her.
This is definitely a heartbreaking story and believe me you will shed tears so have tissues at the ready
