Ten Little Elves came out in November, but we managed to hold off on getting it until closer to Christmas (helped by the fact that we’d only just got Ten Little Monsters). It is already becoming a firm favourite in our house.
TLE follows Santa's elves on a quest save Christmas by retrieving medicine for Santa’s sick reindeer on Christmas eve, without whom he’d be unable to deliver presents. As with the other stories in the Ten Little... series, nothing goes to plan and the poor elves encounter a number of challenges on route, including snowball throwing seals, the Snow Queen and (my daughter's favourite) a rather cross looking polar bear.
TLE is funny, engaging and - most importantly - festive.
Robust. Hardy enough for little hands to turn without too much chance of damage
It is Well made.
A great little story in which the child can participate. Roaring and arrring as wanted.
Will be easy to “read a long” with a child because of the rhyming storyline
Good clear print with nice colourful pictures.
The pages are a good size, nice and thick.
Easy for my grand-daughter to turn the pages for herself.
A great counting guide and easy to remember rhymes to remember
Overall, A tad pricey at Amazon’s RRP but delivery included for prime members takes the sting away.
A great kids book in the “10 little ???” series.
Being on the spectrum means that attention span is very short for my son and he would rather play about than get into bed. These books have ALWAYS got him to settle down for bed (and developed his listening skills).
The bright coloured (and amusing illustrations) always provide amusement, and that is accompanied by very funny rhyming tale with gradual number countdown. Numbers, detail, colours, and great text means a joy for parent and child to enjoy together. Love them.
I do find some of the accidents the elves suffer a little disturbing (eaten by a polar bear?) but they all appear unharmed at the end (somehow...)
