4.0 out of 5 stars Hot smoke jumpers!!! 11 April 2017
By Romance Between The Sheets - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Tempting the Flames is a story about new love and navigating around the dangers of smoke jumping. This really was love at first sight for both Scarlett and Blaze (aka Ryan). They had instant chemistry.

This is a very fast paced story that explores the relationships formed when one of the partners has a dangerous job. Scarlett is there on a research project to finish her degree. She is getting to know all of the men and doing a documentary to find out why they do it. Blaze never expected Scarlett or the feelings he instantly had for her.

I liked the fact that this story highlights the families of these men and women. This is a dangerous job and that takes a toll on relationships. After Scarlett realizes that Blaze is not going to give up on his job, she has to come to terms with it. I also liked the fact that Blaze was not okay with her being out in the field. He instantly became very protective of her.

Em Petrova does a wonderful job of expressing the emotion that happens between people when they are afraid for someone else and the camaraderie between these men and women. The one thing that perhaps I would question is that Scarlett had no training before she went into the field with the men. She had never jumped out of plane and her focus in school was not wild land firefighting, so I'm not sure the she would have been taken to an active scene. But this is a great story about love at first sight and then figuring out how to stay together.

I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
5.0 out of 5 stars Tempting the Flames - Hot! Hot! Hot! 11 April 2017
By MaggieB - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Tempting the Flames is a grab you by the throat book. Dangerous in a sexy, hot smoking way. Blaze (aka Ryan) and Scarlet are perfect from the start. She is a Doctorate student filming smoke jumpers as a documentary in order to graduate. He is a smokejumper risking his life in every forest fire. Two totally different worlds collide - can they connect? The sparks really fly in this book! Sizzling hot kisses as they begin their journey in the middle of a forest fire. This book is hotter than a fire so be prepared. Some good giggles, some tears, just about everything with this book. It rocks with an intensity that is out of this world. It is sex on a stick! Absolute best - so much energy and lots of steamy sex! Blaze and Scarlet are scalding hot and all but burst into flames when together. Lots of plot twists - this book should come with a warning label! Ms. Petrova has done it again - excellent read - rivals the Boot Knockers series. The ending is perfect. Totally loved it. Highly recommend this book. Hope all the smokejumpers get their stories told! I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. The best yet!
3.0 out of 5 stars Burned Up 13 April 2017

This book kind of upset me. I was loving this book up until they got married and then it all fell apart for me. Blaze was hot and I loved how much he loved his job and his team, his passion for everything jumped off the page and he was great. Scarlett was very passionate about her work as well and she really did have a great vision she was working towards and I really liked her until they got married. All the sudden she flipped a switch and got really weird to me and really ticked me off when she asked him to give up his job especially when her career was lining up the way she wanted. She suddenly struck me as selfish and clingy when I didn't get that feeling at all premarriage. I liked the subject of smoke jumpers and the environment that was in this book especially since I never read a book about that career before but the ending of this book was not for me. The execution of this particular book was not for me but I would like to read more books from this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blaze and Scarlett! 12 April 2017
By JigsawGirl - Published on Amazon.com

Blaze and Scarlett's attraction was intense, rapid and scorching hot.Their subsequent relationship flamed even more intensely, faster, and hotter.

Then reality set in and they had to figure out how they were going to sustain a long term relationship. Will they be successful?

I love the fact that the smokejumpers are family to each other. A genuine love, loyalty, and brotherhood (with one sister). They are definitely more than meets the eye. I wish Scarlett in her documentary had focused a little more on Syd as the only female smoke jumper in the crew.

I know the book was about Scarlett and Blaze, but it would have been interesting to see read about her perception of Syd working with the smoke jumpers.

A quick read. Very intense, with a fair amount of steamy scenes. A concentration on whether or not the fires of love can really burn that hot or that fast and maintain over time.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy.
